Well I am in the UK and managed to download v20 firmware via Ovi Suite.  However...

 

When I try to update the firmware I get an error "Internal Error" and can go no further.  I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the n97 and rebooting my PC (as suggested in the error message) but to no avail.

 

I am running Windows 7.

 

Anyone else running into any issues?

 

My n97 is debranded and v 12 firmware installed with no problems (although I was using Vista at the time).

Ovi Store needs to be updated. You can do that by going to "Download!' under applications. After you do the update will work just fine

Updating Ovi Store made no difference here - still getting an "Internal Error" when I attempt to install the new firmware.

0586308 is a 3 network code.

 

How come you've got that before the UK country variant?

Just installed the 2.0 firmware on my N97 and OMG, what a difference.  The phone is amazingly responsive and everything happens fast.  Well worth the wait so far, thanks Nokia.  This is what the N97 should have been when it was released.

 

Only slight down-point, I gained 3MB of space on my C: drive, not as much as I was expecting.  And before anyone asks, yes, everything is set to and installed on mass storage etc.

He debranded it so, athough registered to 3, it is probably trying to update to whatever he debranded it to - probably the euro unbranded.

 

With Win 7 you need to install and run the NSU in xp mode (right click>compatability), or run it in a virtual space  running XP (both hyperV or vmware work).

Sweet to hear the improved responsiveness. It is one thing I have problems with on my N97.
How much free space do you have in C:?

I think it is a driver issue again - this happened in Vista too.  Ovi Suite is detecting the phone and is able to do a backup but it not able to update firmware.  Nokia Software Updater is not detecting the phone at all.  Gonna try and find that Nokia Driver uninstaller and reinstall them again I think.

What about productcode 0585162? UK version here in the Netherlands?

 

Via SW-update I get to see that there is a new fw available but not when using *#0000#.

 

So can I update or not???

Can anybody please tell me if the speakerphone issue is fixed? I'm in Norway and have not retrieved any update.

You can only update with NSU for the moment. You cannot update over the air FOTA (*#0000#)

Still not working.  Used the PC Suite Cleaner and uninstalled all Nokia software; rebooted; reinstalled Nokia PC Suite - PC Suite detects the phone with no problems.  Installed Nokia Software Updater set to run in XP and Vista Mode but neither works, Software Updater is unable to detect the device - despite PC Suite seeing it with zero problems (it is even showing the battery charging animation).

 

Seems there is a problem with the Nokia Software Updater in Windows 7 :/

People that had problems with GPS and updated to V. 2.0. Please tell us if is any better now.

Looks like I will have to wait for FOTA unless anyone can find a solution to this Nokia Software Updater problem.  Do we have any idea when the FOTA release is planned to be deployed?

 

Just checked the driver install and it seems the CDC Comms Interface failed to install...dunno what that is but I am presuming that is the problem.

I had to install NSU using compatibility mode for it to work, was a slight pain in the **bleep** but it works...

I didn´t get maps 3.1 when ugrading to N97 2.0, I still have 3.01, why...............
