Hi there, i recently purchased Nokia N97, i tried updating FW from the existing V12 to V20 (the latest available), but in vain. The updated failed with an "Internal Error" message. Please let me know if there's a fix for the same. if not when can i expect it.

just do it on a pc with XP SP2, not SP3, not VIsta!

Try it, and then tell me!

I have the same issue! I tried to uninstall suites and all kind a fixes but I didn't manage to get it work. The I got another computer for a day, installed there ovi suite and updated. Nokia have somekind a "VIP-list" in their programs for people who try to run their programs in old computers.

I resolved the problem through an older version of PC Suite (the one which came with N95), was able to update from V12 to V20 finally!!

Thanks for the hint. I used PCS 7.1.40.1 to update the firmware and it seemed to work just fine. There was then an issue with Maps and they needed to be downloaded again with Map Updater,

same thing here as well.. got the internal error. Phone seems to be working fine, and it says v.20. I don't know what to think..

i have a branded (Vodafone UK) Nokia N97. I want to debrand it. i changed its
product code to my regional language. when i starts firmware updating every
thing goes normal and updating starts. when it reaches about 70.0mb out of
133.5mb connection from the nokia server drops and downloading process
starts from 0.0mb again. what is the problem ? can anyone help me ? i have repeated
this process about 4-5 times but the problem is same. plz help me

mine stops at 32MB downloads and starts again for 3 times then it gives up. I have Windows XP service pack 3 and I tried disabling my anti virus without success. I tried all tricks of removing battery for 5 mins and even reset the N97 without success. Heve broadband internet. Is it anything to do with the service pack 3 on my laptop?
