N97: Memory reorganizer 1.0, Did it make a difference?

While I was checking new updates, I found this update "Memory reorganizer 1.0". It says it'll move the applications from ‘C' to ‘E', after downloading and running it says that this is a self-remove app. So, it did some work at the background then it disappears. I guess it's a small batch to move specific apps to E. However, I did not notice a significant increase in the "c" size.

Did anyone get the same? Please share the results with us.

Thanks

Found that it improved OS speed and stability so suspect that it is principally a patch to improve C memory management. The aspect of moving items from C to E seems just an additional function to increase C space.  It could be a precursor for the v21 update which should be released soon.

This isn't the first time for this app.  The update appeared once before, right before an update.

Re: N97: Memory reorganizer 1.0, Did it make a difference?

After I did the update yesterday, I noticed a very good improvment in GPS signal. It was taking forever to get the signal before but now, it only takes about 10 to 15 seconds!!! Has anybody noticed this??

No I did not notice any difference in the GPS performance. Why just Nokia inform us with more details about it. Don't we deserve?:smileysad:

I agree - checked the Nokia pages too, and there was no information about this. On my phone, avalable memory on C was increased from 10 to 14 Mb - which is quite good.

Hi, I've been checking for this update for the last couple of days, nothing ! Does anyone know if it's available for branded phones ? I'm with Vodafone and no sign of it !

If I have helped at all, a click on the White Star is always appreciated :

Didn't make any difference to me either. Free space on c: didn't change at all.

Re: N97: Memory reorganizer 1.0, Did it make a difference?

Hi!

I did upgrade my N97 firmware to v20.0.027, then I download memory reorganiser 1.0.

it free up about 14MB (from 10MB to 29MB free space)

before that there was something like windows Aero Effect on my mobile,

but after running memory reorganiser this beautiful affect has gone :smileysad:.

can anyone guide me to resolve this issue.

thanks in advance.

I never get such effects. I guess, as stated here before, this small update is a prerequisite to the 21 FW.

Re: N97: Memory reorganizer 1.0, Did it make a difference?

I updated mine and went from 16 to 24meg of phone memory.  Then, overnight without installing anything, it went back down to 20.  I don't understand the fluctuations in phone memory on this device and it's really frustrating.

If you do web browsing, the cache takes up space in C: too. If you clear the browser privacy data, it should free up C: a little, until the cache gets populated again.
