TBH 6 months behind isn't bad for an UK operator, and v12 fixed most of the real issues with the phone,
The step between v12 and v20 wasn't huge in terms of user experiance
Be interersting to know what is the latest version for the N96 for
3 UK,
Orange UK
Vodaphone UK

Add O2 to the list of operators still on V12.43. Maybe they have been working on V30.33 or they could have given up on the N96 already. Time will tell.

So it's Vodaphone UK who are seriously lagging,
Anyhoo from an upgraded live tv app (useless in the uk) no real notable surface differences between v30 and v20 so far

mate its not worth buying a Unbraded version well if you want updates first tbh its a load of rubbish i brought my handset from the Nokia Store Product code 0573063 Unbranded and guess what its still on v12.043 No updates
i have to say this phone is the worst decision i ever made in buying a handset. Nokia have let the N96 users down with this phone tbh i would be much better using it as a paper weight than a phone god this is so slow i could take a walk into town and back before my contacts load up i dont have many just about 250. it goes away when i reinstall fw or hardrest but then the problem comes back. in my oponion this phone has turned loyal power users away from nokia im now looking at other platforms damn.

And ?
TBH after playing with it for a bit I'm not noticing too much of a quantum leap over v20,
OK some of the lag with the music player seems to be improved, and TBH I've not had much of a chance to play woth the camera yet,
Downside, the update appears to have messed with the prioritorisation/assignment of my access points, tho I've been meaning to clean these up for a while anyway
ATM the TLDR is that it's not much improvement over v20 but we'll see,
PS those with UK unbrandeds still stuck on v12, I think there is a thread around here where someone took his to a nokia care point and they did the upgrade, you could try that

Struggling to fiind many differences in this. What I have noticed is,
AGPS settings wiped - had to reenter manually.
Vibrate on Silent mode switched to off.
Live TV updated - not much use in UK.
Can't find Navi-wheel settings - Breathe feature no longer working
Keen to find out if there is anything else, seems a big jump in release number without much noticeable change.

Found the breathing function - under the Standby settings as Status Light.

Screw the Operators!
Put a generic unlocked product code and enjoy the phone the way Nokia intended! Not by the way the Operators want you to use the phone!
