N95 with v21.0.016 enough for a 8gb microSD-card?

I have understood that by updating the firmware my N95 can handle a 8gb-micro SD-card. Having then checked my version I found out that mine is v21.0.016 and Nokia is currently offering v20... on their web page. So should the SD-card work with this version and/or is it better anyway to update my phone with the v20.?

Your phone already has newer firmware than v20. V21 was released a few months after v20. V21 is still the newest version for the N95-1.

Regardless of firmware your phone will handle an 8GB micro SDHC card without any problems.

Make sure you use a good branded card like sandisk or kingston to avoid problems.

Thank you for the quick answer! I thought so but better check before buying a incompatible card.

your phone will be able to handle 8GB. even will handle 16GB & 32GB due to the new hardware in supporting (SDHC). so any cards that say SDHC eg 16GB SDHC the nokia n95 will support it.

32GB is now the limit so far. so in another two years time are we going to see it rise to 128GB cards lol? who knws only time will tell lol.

True, sandisk have said that 16GB will work. I've yet to see it listed as in stock anywhere so I don't think it's available yet.

Seconded.

My N95-1 was able to use the 8GB card I bought even when it was running firmware V12.something.

all latest nseries that support microsd can easily handle up to 32GB without even needing a firmware update. its thanks to nokia for listening to the customers who wanted memory support more than 2GB.
