Hi.

I've started to update my software to the above version. I have now had a box on my PC telling me that it is 'preparing installation' and not to remove the cable for around 2 hours.
Does it usually take so long? Not sure how much longer I can leave it running for.

That is not normal, the whole process should take around 30 mins. This is assuming you have broadband and not dial-up internet.

It's highly likely that something on your pc has crashed the NSU.

If your phone is still active and usuable then it's safe to disconnect it by pulling the cable straight out.

It's probably safer not to try to update using that computer until you know it's running well. You've had a lucky escape if the phone is still usable.

A nokia care point can update it for you if you want to be safe.
