N95 8GB fw 20.0.016 - Screen saver issue

Hi. I recently upgraded the firmware to the latest available for my model (20.0.0.016). The 1st change I noticed is that the screen saver kicks in much faster than before and completely blanks out the screen. Probably save on battery, so no problem there.

However, I noticed that the screen saver became progressively more reluctant to deactivate. On day 2 after leavingt the phone off overnight, the screen saver refuses to shut off, leaving me with a working phine, but blank screen.

The only way to restore the phone to a working order is to flash the firmware again. This restores the screen for a little while, but having done this about 5 or 6 times now it definitely becomes tedious.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have any suggestions to resolve the problem?

Re: N95 8GB fw 20.0.016 - Screen saver issue

Update: Spoke to Nokia support. They suggested I take the phone to a Nokia Care Centre, as it seems to point to a software fault in the phone itself. It was a new problem,. i.e. not listed before and it may have something to do with some Vodafone specific software in the build.

Re: N95 8GB fw 20.0.016 - Screen saver issue

Update: The repair centre has now sent the phone on to Nokia, as they can't seem to resolve the issue. Not good for a phone that is less than 6 months old and which only developed an issue after the firmware upgrade!
