Yep that's correct, Orange variant firmware is only at V3 and it looks like Orange aren't going to validate V4 for the N80. Follow the discussion on the thread below:

Do you know where to find Nokia Service Centers in Dublin?
I bought mine from an ebay UK seller and now find myself with a 58.01 I can't upgrade either. Any advice would be appreciated

Follow the link below to find a Nokia Service Centre in the Republic of Ireland. You have to choose your County then follow the instructions to see your nearest option.

EDIT: looks like there is a choice of 8 for Dublin.

I would wait a few days because the nokia spokesperson says that not all varients are up yet or included.

I have the same problem and really want the new version.

Did anyone manage to update from 3.x to 4.x with the Vodafone variant? I jsut got a message that there were no update. (I do wish there was a list on the web of available updates so you didn't have to intall the software, backup your phone, etc, just to find out there is no update..)

I suggest Orange users email the orange exec office (search this forum or the net for an email addy) and demand V4.

They've already stopped shipping new N80's, so that basically shows they've left us N80 users high and dry and couldn't give a hoot about us and our problems.

Otherwise, we need to pressure Nokia to make this available regardless and take control await from networks who refuse to support their products users!

At this rate, come next contract expiry I will re-eval my options for phone and network very seriously!

N80 58.01 is a Generic version, but it is a UK only variant, the V4 firmware for 58.01 was only released on the 29/09/06 so I would imagine it will be on the NSU shortly

03 means that your firmware has the Scandinavian langauge pack.

Not to sure what will happen when you will try to update via the NSU.

I would like to think that it will install the same language pack... but in all eventualities an NSC can help.

I agree the more people who make a fuss the more likely they are to do something. Cant find an email address but the correspondence address (below) was given to me by Orange "Customer Care" (and I use the term very loosely!) when I came to a brick wall with them.
They basically said tough - you're under contract and we dont support 3rd part features - in which he included the Bluetooth to GPS issue - he actually stated that the only Bluetooth feature they support is headsets!! To me this is a complete cop out and they are saying they only support the basic features of a phone, so tough if you need a firmware upgrade to play mp3's, connect with anything other than bluetooth to headsets, take photos or videos or any of the other multitude of features modern mobiles have.
Get a mobile from Orange and all you are guarenteed is you can make phone calls!!! This puts me off getting a phone through Orange again and if I dont get the firmware upgrade I am going to stop the direct debit and take up a new contract elsewhere and put the onus on them to chase me for payment (which I am quite prepared to argue against in court that they have not upheld their contract) rather than me have to chase them for an upgrade.

Downloaded Nokia Software Updater but when I launch it I get "Starting Application" and the thing seems to be hanging. When I do a cntrl-alt-del all seems fine as its says its running!

Any ideas?
