Yep that's correct, Orange variant firmware is only at V3 and it looks like Orange aren't going to validate V4 for the N80. Follow the discussion on the thread below:

I bought my N80 directly from Nokia and my firmware is:
V3.0617.0.6

RM-92
Nokia N80 (58.01)
I'm now confused as luckieb says this is not a generic firmware build.
Currently no update available. Just my luck !!

just spoken to Nokia Support and a service engineer (here in Cork) as I have same problem as a number of other users in here (I have a 58.01 phone that I won directly from Nokia in a citizen photojournalism award and it says no software upgrade avaliable).
bottom line if it says no upgrade avaliable then u gotta go to a service centre for a full flash - (or possibly try totally reseting the phone - power down and reset to default settings - then it might work)
shame really - engineer says there is nothing that beats the proper flash in one of their shops !
makes u kinda wonder why they bother.
fair play to those of u that have got it done - is it better

I agree the more people who make a fuss the more likely they are to do something. Cant find an email address but the correspondence address (below) was given to me by Orange "Customer Care" (and I use the term very loosely!) when I came to a brick wall with them.

They've already stopped shipping new N80's, so that basically shows they've left us N80 users high and dry and couldn't give a hoot about us and our problems. Otherwise, we need to pressure Nokia to make this available regardless and take control await from networks who refuse to support their products users! At this rate, come next contract expiry I will re-eval my options for phone and network very seriously!
