N80 firmware update Failed

Hi guys.

i was trying to upgrade my N80 Current Firmware
v 4.0707.0.7 to V 5.0719.0.2


but while updating my broadband connection got disconnected so i left the set as it was (it was working fine) after few hours i tried to update again but now the set is DEAD

i don't want to take the set to Service center i want to do fix it myself. any idea what to do?

First remove the battery for 5 minutes, reconnect the battery, connect it to your pc and run the updater again. Leave it for a few minutes and it should go into recovery mode.

If not disconnect it and try a hard reset.

Hard reset:

1. Switch off the phone.

2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.

3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.

4. Release when the phone shows the nokia logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.

If that fails to fix it try the advice offered in this post by drummer27:

If that still fails then the last option is to take the phone to a nokia care point.
