This firmware destroyed the navi key and autorotating!

I'm on firmware version 11. I'm not experiencing any serious bugs (well, except screensaver), but photo quality seems quite low and some pictures are little blue-toned. So, if I care only about photo quality, should I update firmware and if so to which version?

I think V11 is the best. but if you want to update your phone, update it to V20. it is much better with some new features.

do not update it to V30 that it is so BUGGy firmware.

and if you want to update it to V20, you should bring it to NOKIA CARE CENTER only.

I don't have the camera bug, when I open the shutter it works

Just a quick note on the slow photos, is it the same for photos stored in the camera memory? The fact Nokia has included a SLOW 4GB Class 2 Micro SDHC is also affecting an already slow image system I feel.

When keys are locked and I receive a call, after I end it the screen does not return to blank & black screen but it remains at idle screen wihtout light !

Response received today from Nokia Romania Custom Care:

-This phone operates normally and will recommend you to wait a new software version if your phone have problems.

If you are not satisfied you can go to court and see what happens!!!!

Is that true? That is NOKIA? Sounds shocking......

gusdi: Nokia used to include a Class 4 card. That's what I've got in my N79, anyway. I agree that it's a shame that they've gone down to Class 2, but the Class 4 is hardly fast either. I suspect there's a lot that can be done on the phone side to speed things up.

siegfrid: Nokia said you should take them to court if you don't like the crappiness of the software update?! If I were you I'd forward that email onto Nokia's home base in Finland, I'm sure they'd love to hear what their subsidiaries think of their products.

They dont answer on mail. They said me on the phone. And the guy is  from claims department. I

required official response but.....They are smart.

Thanx sockatum, I was thinking about buying a new class 4 card but I think I will stick with the one I have for the moment since I use the phone mostly for music and not so much for photos or video.

after the update start many times keypad problem

Number 2-7-6 not working  few times lock,unlock keypad working.

We tested N79 in our office and the screensaver works until is interferesing with powersaver!!!!!!!!!

So your complain is  unfounded.

On the subject of the screen saver, I contacted nokia.fi instead of the ever-useless Nokia UK and after they passed it to R&D, I got the following:

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting Nokia Care.

I'm handling the case now in stead of <redacted>. We got answer from the upper level and they say that unfortunately this was not fixed the new software update and currently there is no plans to fix it in next one either.

Nokia Service Professional"

Given how long the handset's been on sale, the next software update would probably be the last, so we can forget about this ever getting fixed.
