This new firmware killed the equilizer in the music player. First I was able to add new presets and edit them the way I want. Now they are non functional. Just the rock preset changes treble a little, but that's a default preset.. Which I never use. I use my own which don't work anymore. As soon I make a new one, edit it and check it.. It goes back to default settings. Nokia killed the equilizer.

Yes, you are totally right. Why can´t Nokia do things right??? the equalizer does not work in this firmware and we are speaking here of a music dedicated device, would you please, Nokia put more attention and care at time you launch a new software release to the market?. Now we have a music device that do not allow us to customize sound by equalizer. What is this??? you shoud launch a fix of the firmware as soon as you can to repair this.
Instead of improve; you made it worst.

buggy firmware really stupid firmware i cant use manual equlizer settings

I have 4.0735.3.0.2 firmware & equalizer don't save any settings. I can change settings, but when I exit from equalizer my settings go back on default settings. I have more another bugs with this firmware. My product code 0529786. This bugs remained without changes from 4.0726.2.0.1 firmware. I have memory card SanDisc MiniSD 2GB. I've installed several applications on memory card. I've tried to switch ON my phone with memory card when it is charging & without charging. Without charging I see White screen with blue logo NOKIA & I receive message: "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer." When I switch ON my phone with charging then phone start up without problem. Nokia please correct it. I can't use my phone continuously with charging. Also I have some bug with settings menu of e-mail boxes.I have bug with WAP-browser, that I can't see hebrew words (letters). This firmware worse than previous. I've waiting for new firmware 4 month& new firmware add bugs instead remove them.

Mine did that do (killed the equalizer)but after i activated each settings one after the other mine is working again.. try that first and see if it helps..

Concerning MiniSD card, I have found that only Kingston has very good compatability. Last time I updated my phone FW, I have got the similar problem with 'Transcend' MiniSD both normal and high speed (80X) 2 GB. If you get it boot up on this condition, your autoload programs will not load at all. It will not always act like that but most of the time. Then I switched back to my good old friend 'Kingston', all problems has gone with the wind since then. My Kington is formatted with FAT32, if anyone will ask for format compatability. I am very sure that your SanDisk has some compatibility issues, at least with this FW.

Wussup viper.. The changelog posted ain't much. No mention of a dead equilizer, faster scroll of zoomed images, incredible digital zoom, dead night mode (i think it's worse, did comparison of older night pix). Maybe whoever meant changelog, implied stuff we see for real. Peace out viper.

The same happened to me, I did what you said and began to work again, why is this like this? hehehe why we have to active each equilizer setting in order to get all working? this is very weird.

I don't undrestand why Nokia releases these softwares? It's suppose to update the device not downgrade!! Each time they release a new version , we got more problem .so i sujest not to update your devivce!!!

GUY SORRY IF MY ENGLISH SO BAD.

Guy try "to reset to default" in you menu in equalizer.

Start up the player with a track preloaded. Don't start the track. Go to equaliser, pick a setting, click on edit. The settins all show up as flat. Start the track playing, go back to equalizer, check each setting, they should now show the correct settings. The settings are not lost when you exit the player, they just dont show until you start a track playing.
