It does make a huge diffrence I wrote to Olli-Pekka after Nokia India failed to replace my N91 8GB. The set was six months old and HDD failed thrice. I asked for a replacement 3rd time. First two times were horrible dealing with care line. The third time was worse they said they dont care Finally I wrote to Olli-Pekka
Hello Sir,
I am writing this mail as a last resort. I have used almost 8 of your handset models. But the last two have made me decide that they will be my last Nokia’s. I purchased a N91 8GB from Bangalore India on 29th September 2007. Within a month the handset developed hard drive issues and had to be taken to the Nokia Care at kormanagala Bangalore, I got the handset same day back. There was no job sheet provided. On November 2nd, I again submitted the handset to the same Nokia Care and this time they said they will have to send the handset to Chennai and will get back in a month. I was issued a job sheet and the handset was surrendered, I got back the hand set on 28th Nov 2007. Three weeks down I had same issues again
1) Hard Drive corrupted frequently (5 Formats required in a day)
2) Handset will turn on only with back cover removed.
3) Call receiving key wont work.
With extreme frustration I submitted the handset to Nokia Care (i2i, Kodialbail, Mangalore) on 23rd May 2007 and requested a replacement. They sent the handset to L3 support Bangalore. I got a call from Bangalore saying my handset will be repaired and delivered in 15days. I called back to customer care today and requested a replacement. But your customer care executive was so rude and ill mannered (I have the call recorded, if I attach the same your Finnish care will tender a mass resignation). He declined a replacement. When I requested for a escalation, I was informed that he was the highest authority whom I can talk to. I even said I will approach the consumer court and he said he doesn’t care.
Sir, as a customer when I purchase a product paying a dear price I expect it to work. Being a mobile engineer myself, I understand that electronic products do fail. At such times I expect the manufacturer to stand behind their products, which in my case Nokia has not. When my product went in to service for second time, I spoke with your care line to at least 10 different supervisors spending money from my pocket as there is no toll free number. Last not the least if I get a reply for this mail I will provide more details as job sheet numbers, IMEI, and even that call recording if you need so.
Within 12 hours the Nokia CCO South rang me up and sanctioned a new N73 ME as replacement. Nokia is only like this in india. Sets are branded Mad by Nokia (to be read Mand in China)
