I just performed the upgrade to V4.0839.42.0.1 25-09-2008 RM-133.

Noticed three small changes: the addition of Mobile TV application (needs an external BT device), Real Player has been upgraded to v.s60.30.35.01 D and Nokia Maps has been downgraded from v1.2wk34b03M to v1.2w07b02LM.

The Music player is the same as before (you have to install V4.0839.42.2.1 to get the equalizer and base control version)

Otherwise, start-up time is still VERY slow and the music player app is still loaded by default. I wish someone could tell me how to stop the music app being loaded and load the gallery app instead. It still takes a long time to show photos you have just taken..

And the latest software does nothing to remove the blue nose found in dark areas of photos taken with low light.

One point- my phone locked up after upgrading and I thought something had gone wrong. I had removed my 2GB MMC card to backup contents and reformat before starting the upgrade. When I replaced this, the phone started working normally. Seems as though the new OS needs more memory that the phone has? All this happened BEFORE I had installed ANY application.

Will post any other changes I find.

this new firmware 4.0839.42.0.1 was not available in my software updater .can u tal me to get this  4.0839.42.0.1,its showing the 4.0812.4.0.1

This firmware is actually quite old now and I believe it was released for the generic version of the phone. If it is not showing on software update, you must have an operator specific phone. If you are in Japan, I guess the phone was purchased from Softbank.

The only way to get it is to change your product code to the generic model but you will loose your guarantee as a result.

Hi all,

I have a severe problem happened with me for more than 1 year , and i don't know what to do ..

After i upgraded my Nokia N73 Music Edition software to firmware V 4..0839.42.2.1 , every time i create an alarm "the alarm created in a meeting item in the calendar" and if the mobile is truned off while the alarms are working (not finished the alarm end date) , the software is crashed and the mobile phone can't be turned on again ..

i'm very disappointed with this behaviour

actually i'm creating multiple Meeting Items in the calendar because this is the only way I can create multiple alarms in the same day ( successive alarms )

If for example my phone battery is emptied due to the exhausting processing of these alarm , the phone is turned off and the software is crashed and the phone can'e be opened again

I missed a lot of data because of this strange behavior ..

Any help will be appreciated ..
