I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the following....

I recently (...regretfully) completed the software update to v 20.0.019 via PC suite...before the update I made a back up of ALL files onto my SD card, which according to my backup options should include settings, messages, contacts etc... I then removed my SD card to complete the update for safety measure...After the update was completed, all of my messages had been deleted from my inbox, and when I came to restore my files from the SD card, everything but my messages were restored!!! :'( They were non-existent!!!! Why?

I've attempted setting the messages to store onto the E: Mass Memory drive then doing the restore from the memory card, but nothing...

Also when I try to restore my messages, the restoration is incomplete and an error message pops up which says "unable to access the file. messages will be stored onto phone memory"

My memory card is an 8GB card and my phone currently says that 1.7 GB of this memory is in use, but I have nothing else saved on the memory card so I think the data file from that backup is saved on there, but I can't seem to access it.......could it be due to the software being incompatible with the messages or vice versa??

Is there any method of retrieving them? Please Help!!!
