I have a nokia 6288....but I have a problem with it...

when I type *#0000# it says

my problem is that I have the softwer of the Nokia6280 on 6288....

when i went to my customer they sad that the only software they havi is for Nokia6280...

my problem it that a lot of things arent working so good...

for an example is when i want to instal an aplication for internet,it asks me if i want to connect to server,i accept and then it gives me the error : "couldn't connect to server"

can anyone help me...pls...
i have searched all over the internet but ihavent found anyting

i have instaled NokiaSoftwareUpdater but it says that my phone is not compatible...

can anyone help me?

hi,

it is weird that ur phone shows 6280 as ur phone name have u checked with the product code on the nokia website if not check it first http://www.nokia.co.in/get-support-and-software/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-updat...

coming to ur "couldn't connect to server" problem make sure u have selected the correct access point for the connection, delete all the unwanted access points and get a fresh one from ur provider and load afresh from ur web browser

I recall that the 6288 is/was just a Vodafone-specific version of the 6280?

the phone I bought from Vodafon(Spain) when I was in a vacation,

I bought it encoded so when I returned home in Romania I unlocked it....

so my new question is:

can I put the software of the nokia6288 on my nokia???

 Hi, I have problem with my 6288. I noticed that my calculator was missing from my phone, and I thought that it would reappear if I update my phone's software. but during the updating the phone accidently was disconnected from the PC. now it appears to be dead. I can not switch it ON. What can I do.

the 6288 was not a Vodafone-specific version of the 6280, as I had the 6288 also from 3 Mobile here in Australia (big 3 logo under the keys on the top part of the slider). and i think it was offered by other operators too as far as i remember, Optus i think. it was simply a 6280 slightly upgraded and in black/white casing and a slight redesign. to answer your question, your phone may have been corrupted after the failed software update. all you can do is take your phone to your local Nokia Care Centre for them to take a look at. let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your prompt answer, I will try to avoid the official nokia care center since it would be more expensive. I have the phone already two years, and first try independent mobile phone repairman. but I will post how it goes for sure

Hi I am back I solved the problem with my phone. The guy just did something and the software was back as it was. Than I just did the update as it should be done. and now it works fine.

got same problem like jovanjovan.. the only solution for that problem is take it to service? can't make it work again with usb home? i got some problems with moneys... and here where i life is very very, expensive..
