Ever since I made the update to the Symbian Anna software, my car kit (Pioneer Avic X1BT) can not connect to my phone (Nokia C7) anymore. Before it worked perfectly. If I connect manually and I make a phonecall, my correspondant can here me, but I don't here anything!! The moment I disconnect, my car system calls it an invalid device!
The same thing happened to my previous Nokia 5230. I didn't realize what happened and thought it was a problem with the phone, until I have the same problem with my C7 now.
Can anyone tell me how I can get my software restored to a previous version?
- I contacted Nokia care by email twice, two weeks ago, and I still haven't got a answer.
- I contacted Nokia care by phone, but they couldn't help me. Got adviced to go to the nearest Nokia Care Point.
- I contacted the nearest Nokia Care point by phone, but they can not even tell me if they can restore the software or not?!?!
Above that all, the new Symbian Anna has got new icons, which I don't like. But you can not change them back to the original ones!! And my background (one of the standard Nokia backgrounds) is gone from my phone. How about letting me deside for my self how my phone should look?!?!
After the disappointment of the Nokia 5230, which I disliked for several reasons, I was very happy to have the new C7! At least until this software update that **bleep**ed up my phone!

The bluetooth issue may be solved by doing a complete reset of your car kit. A total reset and restart. Perhaps even look for updates for your car kit?
Same goes for the former bluetooth connected devices in the phone.. try it, it may actually connect then as it should.
By the way, if you dont like the icons, download other theme from Nokia Store.

...and to answer your Subject Query.. You CAN NOT Rollback the Firmware...

Hey Ztuka, Thanx for your reply.
About your solution to reset the carkit... I will try this and post the result here. Although I think that this is the world upside down. Nokia comes with an update, so they should make it work, and I should not go around finding solutions to their problems.
About the theme's download in the store... Same thing here: I should not search for solutions to problems caused by Nokia. But I did download several themes, although none of them give me satisfaction. I simply want the old standard theme back.
Nonetheless, thank you for taking your time to answer my post. And I will try the carkit reset.

@ farby: You can not rollback the firmware yourself, that's true. A Nokia Care point should be able to do this.

As per the Nokia Policy even the Care point will not do that unless you have EXTREMELY valid reasons..

Reality differs. Nokia Care Points often do this on a simple request of the costumer. And they should! As user, I want to define the looks and the used software on my phone myself. If I can't, than I will stop bying Nokia phones.
And I think that not working car kits and unwanted layouts should be more than enough reason to change the software again!

Then the simplest answer to your Subject question is VISIT NOKIA CARE ...as you (yourself) have answered your question.."You can not rollback the firmware yourself, that's true. A Nokia Care point should be able to do this."
