Hey,
I recently updated my 6220 firmware through Nokia Software Updater (from 3.0 to 4.13) and it has deleted all my contacts and inbox, but left my images and music intact.
Is there any way I can retrieve the contacts and/or messages?
Thanks

interesting I never lost any data on any of my updates of 6220,
anyway the short answer to your question is no, if they are gone they are truly gone

Having just had my phone repaired and returned, I expected it to have lost all it's contacts etc. and it had.
I did however, perform a backup (several times) using pc suite, as I had 889 contacts.
Now that I have the phone back, I cannot load any more contacts onto it from any backup file other than the 250 already on the sim.
I have tried changing the memory reader so that it reads from 'several memories' and have tried various backup files.
The phone will load text messages and the calendar, in fact everything except the contacts!
It's a phone and the contacts are the only thing I really need.
Any ideas? All help welcome.

The backups (.nbu files) are on the local drive
C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Application Data\Nokia\ContentCopier
6220c-1
Firmware - backed up when on 3.X, now updated to 4.13
Nokia PC Suite v7.0.9.2
Nokia contenet copier v4.0
also today tried it with Ovi Suite (same sh*t, different jacket)
All attempts at restoring contacts have appeared to have sucessfully worked but when the phone restarts im left with 3 customer service numbers only.
I know the backup worked because opening the .nbu file with notepad shows all my contacts are there.......

boooya!
Solved it,
if you type
contacts .nbu
into
the 5th entry is
http://v8villager.blogspot.com/2008/01/n95-nokia-r
giving you same issue with an n95 and this link
http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/
which works a treat ;-)
