Re: Firmware update PR 2.0

The problem with nokia updates are, i guess, given mainly by the fact that Symbian is now a really hard OS to be updated. That's one of the reasons, i guess, that nokia will drop it gradually.

The only think customers would like is getting to know partly the roadmap of SW development for symbian: i am a sw developer myself, and i know how hard is to respect schedule, mainly cos of unexpected errors one finds during development.

But nokia has been working on symbian for years, and should have get a reasonable amount of data and experience to predict how long one mayor release should take for testing.

After seeing Anna presentation, i guess most of the users thought that it would have been ready for launch in around 1 month.... I saw an interview to a nokia italian representative that said it would have been ready "in the following months".... now that's not really precise.... =(

Anyway, i was hoping to have Anna this week, but whatever, now i don't know if i have to wait for two weeks or two months....

Cheers

Iacopo

Re: Firmware update PR 2.0

Nokia team just take your time doing the OS but just speed up on making those ideas.

Focus on fixing the bugs and make the OS plausible.

The release of  the update would be defeated if we  find more bugs on the update itself for the so called "anna". People fail to plan when people plan to fail. Nokia plans to fail? i dont think so or did they?

Just please nokia if whenever you release the update or future updates, make sure it is surprisingly better than the past one ...the only way is going forward not backwards.

ios and android is just killing you right now nokia just think about that.

Re: Firmware update PR 2.0

There is NO perfect OS.

Did past Nokia OS not having bug? No.

It is a matter of balance between consumer satisfaction and product quality. The more time spending in releasing software update to known defect, the more angry from customer.

I trust Nokia may release a more stable update, but I hope the timing is more important especially in current situation more and more loyal customer have switched to other platform.

Re: Firmware update PR 2.0

Sounds more like a hardware defect. It's the first time I hear about such an issue.

Re: Firmware update PR 2.0

I have heard of a similar issue of the touch screen not responding whatsoever, I advise you take the phone to Nokia Care as I have to agree with the above comment of it seeming to be hardware related.
