What about the X6 16GB which is unlocked and unbranded. Rm 551 and Product Code: 0592621. I wonder when version 31.0.004 will be available for this phone.

According  to device software updater the latest available software Version is the  21.2.005,

Nokia may need to focus on providing some real updates instead of asking users to install and test their BETA products which never get commercialize.

Why do NAM N8 owners who bought their phones factory unlocked direct from Nokia USA have to wait for their update for Anna?

The N8 is supposed to be a true penta band world phone.  It should, in theory, have the same as the UK or AUS or other english language factory firmware - which is now apparently available in other countries.

And if Nokia wonders why they don't have market share in the USA - here's the perfect example.  You have first adopters who could be showing their friends/family/co-workers the good things that a N8 could do over android and iphone.  But they insist on delaying the firmware for no apparent reason.  These are also the users who are spending top dollar at the onset for the devices.  Nokia doesn't reward it's users.. they punish them for just living in the wrong region.

It is not a matter for regions. Netherlands and Italy, part of the European region, are also deprived from the Anna update. I have copied some discussions between Nokia Care and me. It speaks for itself.

Thank you for contacting Nokia Care.
The software update servers are per region (one server park for Europe, one for
USA, one for Asia etc.). To avoid that the server park would be overloaded in
the beginning, Nokia has decided to roll out the Symbian Anna update in phases.
Unfortunately in the first phase The Netherlands was not included, Belgium was.
We expect the Symbian Anna update to come on the Netherlands market during the
month of September.

I asked three questions and your answer covers just the second question. Your answer
differs entirely from the statements of the Nokia rep Yvonne, who participates
in that applicable forum. I love my Nokia N8, but I hate the aftercare of
Nokia. Right now I’m no longer interested in the follow-up of this update
misery. Nokia is committing commercial suicide with this chaotic policy. Nokia
can’t please carriers and customers at the same time. Your company obviously
has made the choice to comfort carriers in the first place. Apple and Google
do not. They roll out updates no matter a carrier is ready or not. With such
an approach it becomes absolutely clear which carriers are reliable. Your
company is protecting them, but not me and my fellow Nokia users. If your server
overloading story is really true then it shows that Nokia has too less capacity
to bring updates on the market. In other words; Nokia has too many customers
for his network. Nokia is solving this problem perfectly these days.
