Unless I am mistaken, X7 has Anna preloaded, so Anna is completed. Nokia are just taking FOREVER to make it available for everyone else because their existing customers were put last. I think they are either trying to stall our abandonment of Nokia by making us hang on in this way, or maybe they think we're stupid enough to give in and go out and buy a new model with Anna preloaded? LOL!

Google are no quicker or slower than any other OS provider and in any case when Google do release an update it can take many months for that update to arrive for individual handsets. Take the HTC Desire for example. That is still waiting for the 2.3.3 update even though Google released it last year.
You mention 2.3.4 and 2.3.5, but they are insignificant minor updates or bug fixes and shouldn't be classed as firmware upgrades. In fact, when I updated my SGS from Froyo 2.2.1 to Gingerbread 2.3.3 there was hardly anything different about the phone afterwards. Most of the changes were background tweeks for better application and power management. It also added support for VOIP and NFC ( irrelevant on the SGS as it has no NFC chip anyway ) and a supposed new on screen keyboard ( didn't get that on the SGS ). The 2.3.3 update actually contained a bug that caused the battery to drain abnormally ( so much for better power managemnt ) but that was addressed in the 2.3.4 update which I've updated to via Odin as it wasn't available through Kies at the time (don't know if it is available yet officially).
All in all, the update process for Android can be just as messy and fragmented as Nokia's process.
All the best.

The battery drain bug I was referring to was the Android OS process causing the problem. The strange thing is it didn't affect all SGS's just some.
The Nexus S is basically a Galaxy S but with a different physical design and an LED flash for the camera. It's also the phone that receives updates before other Samsung phones.
What Nokia update are you referring to when you say it was released 4 months ago?
The speed of Android is dependant on hardware and whether the handset has the lates update or a lagfix. For instance, the SGS running on 2.1 Eclair or 2.2 Froyo was laggy and slow, and it wasn't until 2.2.1 update came along that the OS actually became smooth to use. There are still some SGS's in the world that haven't got the 2.2.1 update yet, particularly in the USA.
I think that is enough Android talk with the point being that the update process for Android is probably more fragmented and inconsistent than Nokia's.
Best regards.
