I've been trying for 3 days to get WLAN to work after updating my E71 to v.400. I stayed up all night one day installing, reinstalling, formatting, reformatting, still no joy.I cant reinstall asNSU says i have most current software.
I ve tried every soft reset, hard reset, *#7370#, *#7780#, even the *3 + Green Button + Power Button, and NONE works!!!
I'm just about to throw my phone against the wall. Updating a phone should NOT be this difficult or complicated!
An update is supposed to get your phone working better and improving the user experience, not to drive you crazy and make your life hell. At the moment, i canot use the phone for 60% of what it was bought for!
3 days to get a software update to work?and still counting And no solution on the forums from Nokia?I rejected the BB Bold in favour of this nonsense. Nokia, mark my words, you are currently heamorraging customers over this update fiasco. Surely it cannot be too difficult, with the amount of resources at your disposal to make sure a software update fixes problems and does not introduce new ones - especially major problems such as connecting to the internet.
Nokia reminds me of another behemoth, who once ruled the world, but got nonchalant and gave its customers bloated software, update/upgrade issues, crashing hardware/software, insufficient support.......the list goes on Their name starts with the letter M.
NOKIA, PLEASE SORT THIS S****T OUT!!!!!!!

This is a user to user forum and we re all Nokia users here just like you. If you want to contact Nokia directly you should be using the "Contact us" tab to the top right of this screen.
If you like some of us here to try to help you with your problem, then please describe in more detail. Do not think that your problem is caused by the update because hundreds of thousands of other E71 owners have updated without the problem you are having. It is more likely a problem specific to the setup of your phone or a failed update n the first place. So blaming nokia the way you did is not going to make you too popular with those who may be able to help.

Im not trying to win a popularity contest here. Im moaning about a problem i have with updating my E71, looking for help in resolving it, and Nokia lack of support and information regarding the issue.
If you are not one of those people who can help, then i suggest you dont answer the post.
The post makes it clear what the problem is - Unable to connect to WLAN after firmware update - ver.400.21.013. This problem is not unique to me, and has nothing to do with the phone - the problem started after the update. if fact, there are many posts on tis very site with the same issues.
As suggested earlier, if you cannot add anything constructive, please do not answer the post.

Hi suprajt.
I was having this same problem, in fact mine was with GPRS as well. I figured it might be something to do with restoring a back up and i also noticed the Smart connect was missing but hadnt got around to reinstalling it yet. Then i came across your post and tried it and it worked.
Thanks very much.
Dave.
