Please, please, please Nokia.....please fix your files on your server. This issue has been around since early July.
All product codes that have the v.300 firmware upgrade for the E71-2 NAM model have a missing file.
The file missing is rm346_300.21.012_prd.c00 from your sever.
NSU cannot update as it cannot find that file. It detects that a new firmware is available, but then when trying to update, it will fail trying to download it.
Please fix this ASAP.

MY PHONE FAILS TO RECEIVE 3G AND I SUPPOSE I NEED A FIRMWARE UPGRADE.
SO I CAME TO FIND THIS SERVICE BUT....
THIS IS RATHER FRUSTRATING.
I HAVE THE SAME SITUATION.
THE SOFTWARE UPDATER PROGRAM REFUSES TO DOWNLOAD DUE TO SEVERAL REASONS LIKE, FIREWALL OR
SLOW CONNECTION.
BOTH CASES ARE NOT VALID. I DID EVEN TURN OFF FIREWALL, AND MY SPEED IS 1GB.
I UPDATED THE NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER PROGRAM AND ALSO PC SUITE AND DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM.
NOKIA SHOULD FIND A SOLUTION TO THIS AND INFORM US IMMEDIATELY.
TYPE RM-357 MODEL E71-2 CODE 0569371

Yes,
I am having the same problem. First I turned off the firewall. Still no solution....
Quite frustrating.

Painfully i remember why i swiched an iphone 3G...
a) Software struggles with nokia are incredible here you have a company that makes to my personal opinion the best hardware finishing, but lack the inovative and compeating software to mach the machine. Have any one thought about S60 before the purchase... in my case looks like a ferrari outside but with an 4 cylinder inside...
b) PC Sync is terrible, takes over my machine like a gorilla at the zoo goes nutz...
c) Software updater... i have tried for the past 48 hours on and off to make it work i still have no progress to report. Wich brings me to say i HATE my iphone 3G " S " looks generic and simple. BUT works in ways that nokia still dreaming of.
d) I will miss the sexyness of the my E71. FOR SALE ON EBAY !

I love Nokia. I have been loyal customer for many years. All this years I was trying to ignore the above mentioned facts. No this time. After the lock of customer service from Nokia. After I paid almost 500 USD for the E71 it is about to say Bye, bye Nokia. All will be determent after Tuesday when I have appointment in Nokia service center in Torino, Italy. I have been tried to fix my phone already a week. I finally made contact with them Saturday when they told me to come on Tuesday because they not working on Monday. For Christ Sake is this Nokia thing or just the famous Italian laziness?

Same deal here. Come on Nokia. A firmware update isn't that hard. If it's not ready, fine. But don't push it out to users and waste their time trying to do the upgrade if it isn't readily downloadable. I've tried two different computers, three different internet connections (all good) the firewall turned off altogether and a couple of the anecdotal trouble-shooting tips suggested on this and other forums. The 300 update is not downloadable. Please do sort this out. I don't mind waiting for a functional, complete and downloadable update, but I do mind wasting my time with an update that doesn't work.
Given that this problem seems pretty well identified, it is also frustrating that there has been no communication from Nokia either acknowledging the problem or giving a timeframe for solving it.

I almost don't believe it. It looks like they did again. RM-357. First there is an update (which I find out about by accident, not from Nokia despite signing up for their MyNokia email), but Nokia Support Updater gives faulty and inaccurate error messages about trying to connect three times and failing, or about a firewall issue (which was turned off and had allowed access to the required files anyway) and about Internet connection speed (which is high, and as high for a friend of my who also has an e71 but a different RM number) to update. Time wasted trying to troubleshoot a Nokia problem.
Then, again without notification, the update disappears. Suddenly 200.XX is the latest version. Then, and again without notification. 300.XX reappears. With the same errors. Looks at my phone, tells me there's an update, then won't download and install.
Two different computers, two different highspeed connections, latest Nokia PC Suite version. As I said earlier, I would rather have no update than waste my time with one poorly rolled out, especially since this phone is aimed a business users who want their phone to work and can't waste time trying to make Nokia's software work. This is definitely souring my experience of the first, and at this point, probably last, Nokia I will buy. Perhaps Nokia has forgotten there are a couple of other companies (Blackberry, Apple) that also make pretty good devices, and seem to have update systems that function. Why do I learn of updates for the iPhone more easily than for the one I own?
Get your act together Nokia.

i think it's a fake again. i mean i got an e-mail saying there was new update software for my phone 2-3 weeks ago. nothing went on when i tried to update it with nokia pc suite.
today i get another e-mail saying there was a new software update for my phone. i go to nokia software updater which SHOWS a new firmware but when i tried to update, it fails and says that it can not connect to the internet and that it failed 3 times.
BS.
i think nokia's server is probably down because of all the updates (if it's true and for real), or it could just be down, OR, there is no real update.
freakin' nokia, love your phones, but your firmware updates sucks shaft and sack at the same time.

I have upgraded my E71-2 to version 300 when it first hit NSU many months ago.
Of coarse, this issue existed back then too so I had to "fool" NSU by manually downloaded the files via navifirm and placing them in the appropriate directory on my PC so that when I ran NSU, it saw the files locally and updated that way.
I have been running it on my RM-357 for a long while now. Never had it reboot on me. Unit works great and the camera looks better IMHO.

Hi candido, I have downloaded the files. Where did you put them to "fool" NSU?
Looks like I'll have to do same but don't know where to put them.
Thanks
