Downloading Indian Language Pack

Hi,

     I have Nokia N85, purchased from DELL.com in US. I am using this mobile in India. While Sending SMS, I can find only few Languages like English, Franch, etc.. in "Writing Language" option. How can I download Indian Languages so that I can use that for reading and writing messages in Indian Language?

Regards,

Nagendra B.R

Re: Downloading Indian Language Pack

the only way you can change a language pack is by going to nokia care. also make sure that the language you use plus the language you want are both in a specific language pack. nokia care will install the desired language pack for a small fee. there is few things to keep in mind, you will lose your installed language pack if you update a firmware and/or have to reformat your phone. in that case your language pack will default to whatever native pack was installed with the firmware meant for this product code.

Re: Downloading Indian Language Pack

Dear, Nokia haven't developed Indian language pack for S60 3rd edition mobile. If you want to use Indian language then use S40 device. Also remember that you can see Indian languages in your S60 3rd edition mobile but you can't write it.

Re: Downloading Indian Language Pack

@radical24:

A language pack consists of labels for menus, an input method and T9 dictionary, and strings displayed by built-in applications.

A language set is a collection of language packs.

A language pack can't be changed but it can be added to the current language set.

It doesn't replace language packs in the current language set.

Depending on the phone model, it is usually lost in the event of a firmware update or a reset.

The only way a language pack will "replace" existing languages is if the NCP sets the phone to another region (you know how) and installs that region's firmware, in which case no language pack has actually been changed, the language set has instead. This said, an NCP is not going to do that without bending the rules.
