Do you agree with pre-loading commercial apps in your mobile firmware?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if there someone really happy with pre-loaded undeleted "commercial" apps in his phone firmware such as vlingo or boingo or"Premium" JoikuSpot.. etc (not include free apps such as qik or "limited" QuickOffice. also not include Gravity twitter client!)

So, I made this poll to find out your views on this subject especially when it comes to undeleted apps!. this might helps Nokia to know if it do it right or not.

Do you agree with the inclusion of commercial applications (requires subscription or purchase) as a part of your mobile phone firmware?

I'm looking forward your opinions and thoughts about it.

Re: Do you agree with pre-loading commercial apps in your mobile firmware?

I have any applications that Nokia give pre installed on the Nokia devices. Some such as OVI, Nokia Maps, etc take up crucial C: memory. It would be better if users can get the choice not to add all them.

I say no to pre loaded applications / trial games etc even if the application is full version.

I don't mind pre-installed apps, I just want the ability to remove them if I don't want to keep them.  In the meantime, I've got all the rubbish like Boingo etc stuffed in a directory out of the way so I don't accidently click them and end up getting my access points clogged up with protected entries.

I have been to delete Boingo from my N97. There is no delete option on the device and Boingo doesn't show up on OVI Suite list of applications.

Any idea how I can get rid of this rubbish once and for all?

You can't, and that's the reason for this topic.

All you can do is create a folder in your applications menu and place unused junk in there in order to tidy things up, but it won't remove those applications or give you any more free space on your C: drive.

Re: Do you agree with pre-loading commercial apps in your mobile firmware?

The funniest thing is nokia support have absolutely no clue as to the firmware. i emailed them regarding this very issue and how if we could remove the programs it would free system memory making the phone slightly more stable. the support staff had never heard of vlingo and recommended going to organise mode and removing them or going into applications and uninstalling them that way and he refused to believe that the pre installed don't show up in the available list of app's to uninstall

Nokiasupport where? - If that's true, Nokia has issues.

Now, I want to be able to delete those preinstalled apps too!

This is definitely an issue Nokia should pay some close attention too.

I for one do not want any pre-loaded applications, which I may never use and cannot remove  on my phone, especially when I am have to scrape away trying to recover precious resources for the applications I do want to load.
