Common nokia what's up with you?

I'm sick of Nokia,
I'm sick of them lackink  consideration for the client,

I live in Israel and ever since I've heard about version 20 I'm waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting.

I suspected at first that maybe there's some sort of desire to attract more attention to the new version
But in recent days I think it's just more irresponsible than a PR stunt,
In a PR stunt they'd pull our eyes out on how good this version will be,
In a PR stunt, they would talk to us, they will publish pictures or videos or even small post on how's it going with the firmware.

There are customers that have paida lot of money on the company's Flag device,
A Device that I won't expect him too much but damn you could at least be stable,
Stable enough that he won'tcollapse, he won't hang up calls, so he won't hang so much,

that you could hear me properly over the loudspeaker, and maybe stable enough so i won't have to think about hard reseting every other day?
I want my cell phone to do what they said he could do, at least stand up to your promise.

So it's true, you can't expect much from a low RAM to do such crazy theme effects and multitasking as advertised (can you say false ad?)
But at least release it when he could do half of these things and surviving after,

because when I saw the advert I thought to myself "I want that cellphone",

and after some time with him (three months or so) I can say I'm disappointed.

Really, I was disappointed from you Nokia,
It's not only about this new version, it's about your credibility,
Every forum about nokia/s60 os/n97 have thousands of people screaming for somebody to Help them,
They dont understand what's happening to their phone that they've spent a lot of money for.
I'm sure that many of the service center's of Nokia around the world
Receives several calls questioning;

about the new version,

On how to fix the annoyng nokia tone

on building issues (a scratch on the camera? a Problem with GPS?)
you've made a HUGE mistake releasing this phone without having to run an extreme stress test to see if this phone is what you're saying he is,
But I guess money is what really motivates you guys,
I guess that you didn't thought about loyalty to your costumers...

I truely hope that nokia's people will see this post

so they would know that having a lot of cell phones doesn't make you a better company than the iPhone's,

it's how you make your cell phone's experience truely worth the wait.

Sorry about the long post, just unloaded two weeks of frustration

I do think that version will be out by the end of this month (they said so didn't they?)
and I hope that it will be worth the waiting.

Re: Common nokia what's up with you?

Why do you need one? Nokia said right from the outset that PR2.0 should be released in October.

October isn't over yet.

Re: Common nokia what's up with you?

Hopefully they would think again about not sharing any info,

and maybe tell us what are they waiting for...

i just think that by paying such a price for a mobile they would think that we deserve information about where they stand in the development

and not just posting "oh there's a new firmware were working on for N97"

but actually make us part of the process

maybe opening some sort of a bugreport forum that a small amount from the team

would occasionally post development progress info that we could actually believe when we are saying stuff like

"i guess they're fixing a lot in this firmware" and not just saying that so we won't be feeling manipulated and fooled.

only info i saw is at the "Nokia World 2009" ever since V20 is like a legend, sure there's 1 post here from nokia's about this FW

but then again there was a man who did saw jesus revive...

just don't know what to say anymore, i truelly hope that someone from nokia that can help by reassuring us is watching this post.

Re: Common nokia what's up with you?

Did they say by the end of October? I don't know !

A nokia employee Started a thread here quoting:

Dear updaters

Nokia N97 software update 2.0

Nokia N97 software update 2.0 will be released in the coming weeks. - that post was only 8 days ago, ''Coming weeks could be 6 weeks. Xbungle from Nokia makes this very clear

Software availability

As usual, we will publish standard non-customised versions of the software, with country (SIM-free) and operator versions following in the following weeks - this as we all know means that all UK & branded handsets will be lucky to have it by christmas.

It seems that a lot of people here assumed v20 would come out with N97 mini - why would it? They are 2 completely different devices.

XBUNGLE NOKIA - You started that thread and I think it is time you shut it down, all you have achieved is to wind up your customers. In Fact, shut the forum down, for the good it does.

Re: Common nokia what's up with you?

grschinon, i'm tired of saying "Oh! october isn't over yet" so i won't feel fooled, all i'm saying that i would rather post a reply containing

something like "wow this v2.0 is mindblowing, with all of these fixes there's no wonder what's been keeping them so long...i guess i should wait"

but i can't say that with actually believing that it's true, i'm hoping for it, but i'm a bit realistic when i see the facts right infront of me:

the nokia guy who posted that thread was the only "new" info i've heard in a while about v2.0

even with the latest video reviews posted from time to time - they didn't add much info since most of it has already been posted in nokia world 09

and some rumores over the net about how amazing this software is gonna be when NOBODY even saw it from an actuall nokia post

lately all i see from nokia is N97-MINI, N900 PR (the damn phone isn't out yet and they already posted what fixes the next fw contain)

i understand it really, the n97 is kind of a nothing-is-really-new-besides-the-touch+qwerty-but we didn't worked on it until it would be ready for any normal use,

and i understand that more bugs will appear as new n97 handsets will sell,

but why not reassuring me and everybody else that invested money in this mobile with some new info about the progress?

Nokia is a company, one that sells a product that they know is very important during the day (forget about the apps - i'm talking about making a phone call)

so how come they won't fix atleast the call hangups at the v12 fw? or maybe inform me that the loudspeaker isn't that good? will it be? i don't know they don't say anything...

any way, when a product is being advertised like this one did, it should live up to the expectations (not at the primary release - i'm realistic) but for some reason i can't quite believe that it would be like they've shown me...all those fancy transitions and effects + a hand full of usable homescreen widgets

and a day2day fully usable apps alltogether without being worried "will it hang?" not at the meantime anyway.

gotten a little of topic here, just wanted to know wheres the future of my n97 investment?

was the ad a lie? or is nokia really planning to get n97 to work like the ad shows?

how about sharing some info about it, what do ya say nokia?

* look at this video and tell me that you think that a 128 ram phone could do all of that with multitasking

(not a big one, maybe a theme effect + music + web could be a start)
