I noted that this version is available for certain North American variants - e.g. 0599222 - but the last two versions 22 / 24 were not available. Does this mean that Symbian Anna is also being released for these variants?

Hi all,
maybe I should put this in a separate thread so that it doesn't get overlooked, but I nevertheless already clarify it here.
025.007 and the servicepack are two completely different things.
025.007 is a software update for the phone's operating system. It's the latest one for Symbian Anna compatible phones and is not mandatory (as it only contains a handful of error fixes), meaning that not all countries/operators will test & approve it and put it into use if they have any earlier Symbian Anna version launched already.
The service pack is an applications update - and targeted at updating applications that are running on Symbian Anna compatible phones. It includes for example a java installation fix (as we had some customers with problems here) or solves problems with MMS scrolling.
Hope that clarifies some things!
pS: On the question a bit further up when the E6 will get the Anna update: E6 (as well as X7) has been shipped with Symbian Anna directly from sales start. So your phone has Symbian Anna already included - and the 025.007 update will only have some error fixes as mentioned further up.

yvonne

What's the difference between "Service Pack" (which I have got) and this minor update to v25.007?
After "Service Pack" I still have 022.014. Product code 059D309 and I live in Finland.

Still to be released for C6-01.
It has been released a while ago. The fact that it is not available for your particular product code does not mean that it is not released. If you bother to read the first post in this thread you may even understand that it is quite possible it will never be made available for your handset.

yvonne,
I bought my E7 at London Heathrow Airport T5 at Nokia shop. I bought it specifially there to get original non-branded phone so I will get all updates. I had bad experience with localized firmwares in the past (e.g. v400 firmware has never been released for my E90).
I could get E7 for €300 less at my provider as I did not take any advantage of subsizied phone since 2007. I went for an expesive way and as I see I wasted money, for product code 059F7J6 is still at 022.014. I would expect Nokia owned shop in UK sells unbranded phones. Do you have information if it is going to be released for my product code? Who has to approve it? UK seem to approved it as many users have reported of updates.
Kind regards,
Damjan
BTW: Thank you for all clarifications. They are appreciated.
