Can't update to v52.0.007 on 5800

I can't update my firmware to v52.0.007 on my nokia 5800, i have tried OTA and  OVI suite. It keeps saying that v51 is up-to-date, can anyone help?

 

Phone info: 

RM-356

0581337

about one year old

Upgrade depends on region / Product Code.. also If your phone is Network locked then the update will be possible only after an approval from the Operator..

As per this..

http://www.nokia.co.in/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update

there is no update available for your Product Code..

 

...but I have read a few posts on this forum where users have indicated than even when they faced similar situation as yours.. they were successful in getting the software upgraded at Nokia Care..

My phone is not network locked.  Will the upgrade be available to my product code? and is there any way to change my product code?

No one on this forum can give any assurance whether your product code will get any updates, since this is a user-to-user forum and also Nokia does not announce anything about this..

 

Changing of product code can not be discussed on this forum as anything that Voids the warranty is forbidden..

... except the situation, where you

  • go to an authorized NOKIA service center
  • let them check if the following is allowed by NOKIA
  • pay a fee (it's magically calculated by NOKIA and would have been about 50€ in my case)
  • get an official new product-code

(so it was offered to me, while waiting for an update for my E51).
