OK, it seems my problem is just calibration. None of the widgets gives a correct % above 80% charge so that's why I got these readings. Hopefully by draining fully and then recharging it will calibrate.
Anyone else knows a proper way to calibrate battery on Symbian?

I have e6, and sadly it seems the battery life after update is shorter to.

I agre, there is no option to swich of wi fi scaning. That could be the main reason for shorter battery life in my e6.

I upgraded to Belle less than 2 days ago and have had to charge my phone daily. I have turned on all the power saving options which I never had on before and it is worse. I have reduced the email updates. I have added the battery life indicator which says is something in the background that it is eating the battery life but I have no applications running. I wonder if I can go back to Anna????

Bear in mind my Apps don't give correct readings so I don't trust them. I think the battery holds OK but the apps give faster discharge for some reason. I think battery monitoring is broken and not actual battery life. BatteryInfo, Battery Info and Battery Monitor are all completely wrong on my E7. I will see if anything changes after a full discharge...

On my N8 connection manager reported Maps using an internet connection despite quitting the Maps app. I've updated to Maps 2.0 (available from the Beta Labs site) and that appears not to have the same problem.

I have had the same problem with the phone backside getting warm and battery life decreasing fast, much like other users have reported here. I did update though retaining all my applications and settings, therefore I have done a Factory Reset and Restore, so installing all my applications again now and see how it goes. Usually a clean slate does the trick

Hi all,
we have the following FAQ now for Battery life vs. WiFi:
What to do if the power consumption on my Nokia Belle device is high when Wi-Fi is on and connected to an access point?
You can check the power saving settings for Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), select Settings > Connectivity > Wi-fi > Settings. The latter settings menu (bottom-right icon with 3 horizontal bars) is available only when Wi-Fi is switched on. Enable the setting in case it is disabled.
It is recommended not to disable the Wi-Fi power saving unless it is absolutely necessary, e.g. browsing doesn't work at all. Usually the problems are related to the power saving, that’s why the option to disable Wi-Fi power saving is available. Quite often the issues can be fixed by updating the Wi-Fi Access Point firmware which can be found on the Wi-Fi Access Point vendor's support pages.

Well with my C7 with Belle the WLAN works exactly the same as in Anna. The WLAN setting from the pulldown menu is set to ON and if an app needs internet connection the phone connects to a known WLAN. When the connection is not needed anymore the WLAN is disconnected automatically. And the same works with the mobile data connection. When not needed my phone disconnects both connections and both are set to ON from the pulldown.
