I've an HTC with Android (business) and N8 with Anna (personal).

I'm not impressed by HTC, neither by Android. Battery life is short comparred to N8 and reception is bad at times. Signal strength indicator tells you something and when it comes to call somebody all the sudden you found that you have no coverage.

That's Android & HTC.

N8 is more robust and with less late surprises.

I'm not big fan of Nokia anymore and neither I'll buy the windows phone one, but we need to be honest. N8 camera is really good, HTC/Android nothing to hold your breath.

I started this discussion 10 weeks ago. At first, I got !@#$ for attacking Nokia. Now I see more people taking my side. I honestly believe it's all about forcing us to take interest in the WP7 stuff surfacing in the next week or two. Nokia has very little presence in the USA so we're being "punished" by not getting the update and having the WP7 stuff force fed to us.

GEE, why wouldn't the USA fall in love with Nokia now?

I had the HTC Nexus one. It was a great phone with HORRIBLE battery life. This seems to be HTC's way, although I've heard that the custom ROMs will make battery life much better. I'm currently using a Motorola Atrix (AT&T). It has pretty good battery life. It does randomly reboot, but the raw performance is fantastic.

I still like my N8 better than either Android phone. The camera, OLED display, and build quality are unparalleled. I REALLY want this update before I give up on it. The performance (compared to my other phone) is disgusting. The web browser is absolute junk.

I still have my N97. If you want to know what started Nokia's downward slide, try one of these $600 + nightmares.....

Sorry to disappoint you but the Anna update still hasn't improved the phones performance or the browser.

I'm still forced to use Opera 11 browser because the native one is just too painfully slow.

My neighbour got a HTC Android phone  & he steadily complains about his battery life , how he always gotta charge battery, Nokia gives way best battery life than any other manufacturer, we really need these updates soon, does anyone know if any of the Nokia N8 NAM versions sold on Amazon comes with the update now or u still gotta purchase from non american sites to get update also

The US and Canada "Country Variant North America" N8 phones are these:

nam does not equal "North America US"  Incidentally, I've tried many of the firmwares on my 059D0V2 including Belle.  Full functionality in all versions.  25.007 built for nam version is probably the smoothest operating on my North America US phone.  Seriously, this version works flawlessly; so what exactly do they need to do in order to release an official rom for the US phones?

Like some others, I lost Quick Office...

The best change is the NEW FONT!!!!

Web browser is noticeably better.

Accuweather widget seems to actually work (for now?).

Mail is better looking.
