Hello, just to keep you informed.
new firmware 4.22 isx available right now! (from 3.58 to 4.22). i will keep you up to date concerning the fixes.

Nokia Navigator got updated to version 8.0.11424 (11422). bugs with new "Western Europe with Nordics" seem to be solved. Going on with further tests.
Garmin Mobile XT 4.10.60 SMS write-bug not yet fixed (you have to shut down the TSRAutostart.exe to be able to write SMS without having problems with the #-button.
i have no bluetooth car-kit to try that bug.
Surname, name -> name, surname - problems in phnone book got fixed.
other bug fixed: if you open phone camera protection whil keypad is locked, the keypad gets unlocked and camera starts. if you close it than again, keypad gets locked again now (old firmware didnt lock it again)

i couldnt play the voice commands before, it works now.

But thats with speech synthesis turned off.

Does it fix the voice-dial-bug (freeze and re-load GUI when using voice dial)?

It's the only bug I experience and I guess I shouldnt upgrade unless it fixes this one...

It was possible to use voice dial before the update also, you just have to set "voice synthesis" to off, oddly enough.

No, but voice synthesis doesnt do anything.
It works fine, just turn it off, i know thats crazy that you have to turn a feature off for it to work, but thats how it is.

Thx, I thought it would actually disable any voice output to turn it off. You're right, it doesnt do anything.

Bad thing is that even with speech synthesis turned off, voice dial doesnt work but sends the phone to an undefined state until it reloads the user interface at some point. I'll try with the new firmware eventually (maybe this weekend), but I'm pessimistic.

You also have to turn off that the phone reads out the name of the person who is calling you, if you turn those two things off it should work.

You're a hero. I will now use this code and get Turkish support to my phone with 4.22. Thanks a million for this.

And on the 4.22 side I've got bad news. I've checked many things that has been posted in my topic for the bugs and they still exist. It seems like they have only fixed the navigator bugs with this update. The only change I noticed was smaller network operator fonts. That's all.

Now I suggest we use this topic to post the still existing bugs with our phones. I'll go and copy the ones still existing and post them here. Let's keep the topic high up
in the list so that we can press on for future updates.

Here are the remaining and fixed bugs I could trace:

Remaining:

1 Connection with Nokia C7W Bluetooth car kit is still problematic. Terrible echo still exists

2- Cracking sound at the neginning of sa recording in the sound recorder is still there. (I use high quality/wav option)

3- Flashlight overexposure and glowing effect on the left side still exists.

Fixed:

1- Voice dialling (Talk now option by holding down "Own Button") is fixed.

Hello, no problem, glad I could help you. But how can people change the phonecode? Or is it possible to download the software with the wrong phonecode and install it onto a phone with a different phonecode? Never heard of that possibility.

Bugfix and buglist

Fixed things are those:
- navigator bug (highly needed if you got the Western Europe with Nordics map, that was for a day on the route 66 sync software-store, then got removed because of the problems. it works now 100%, therefore i wrote them that they could add the map again, will be online soon).
- the camera open/close bug got fixed: when keypad was locked and got unlocked due to camera opened, if you close the camera, the keypad gets locked again.
- surname, name -> name, surname order in phone book now works the way it should.
- bluetooth carkit seems to be working now the way it should(i can not try that, as i havent got bluetooth carkit).

still remaining bugs:
- if garmin mobile xt is installed (newest version 4.10.60), if you write a SMS, and press the #-button,and want to go back in line, it often switches to "select" mode, instead of going simply with the cursor back. To avoid that, with garmin installed, you have to shut down the TSRAutostart.exe process (however the program works fine on n95)
- soundregulation does not work in games (the two buttons on the mobile phone)
- you can not rename the last default Profile (currently i set it to german, it is here called "Offline", however it might be nokia's intention to keep that locked).

I must once again tell you that you saved my life. I baught my phone in Austria but will use it in Turkey. I have asked the nokia care centres and have searched over web and forums for the code for Turkish and all the codes I received failed to have Turkish in it. But magically your code has ended my everlasting misery. I can now use the Turkish characters and language support like a charm. So thank you again.

Normally your phone code is written to your phone ROM by default and this cannot be changed by mistake. However there is a software which can change the ROM code if you want to install a different language on purpose. For example if you buy your phone from Singapore naturally the phone language will be Asian. But if you want to use it in Germany all you have to do is to change the language code and re-install the nokia software update. This is no way illegal like changing the IMEI etc. and that's how Nokia centres load local languages for different phones.

I'd like to correct one point in your last post laxtex. Although one member said his carkit problem was solved I still have the Nokia C7W carkit echo problem. So we cannot say it is fully solved.

@alien2000a: i am glad it worked for you. yes i know, chaing imei is not legal, but thats why i postet the phonecode, as i already knew that this is no special secret. a pitty i wont find a luxembourgish version, as there is none (T9 dictionary luxembourgish would be revolutionary for writing sms, but that doesnt exist yet). maybe nokia will offer that once, but i doubt it.


- bluetooth carkits are not really fixed.
i hope we will get never firmware now faster, guess nokia support had a lot of work with nokia 95 8gb.
