If you have any problems/suggestions for your future 6110 Navigator, let's list them here.

Mine are as followed:

1-If you are using a dual line simcard where line diverts are available the phone resets itself if you try to switch to the second line.

2-Connection with Bluetooth car kits are problematic.

3-Navigator button should be re-assignable as we all use different navigation maps. Do we have to browse all the way in to start the application? Why not simply re-assign the navigator button to Nokia Maps, Garmin, Tomtom etc?

4-Why can't we rename offline profile to anythşng else like "flight"?

5-I wonder if this is language or region specific problem but in my s40 6280 I was able to choose listing of contacts by firstname, lastname or visa versa from the setting menu. In s60 6110 I can do the same but no matter I choose the messages are listed as surname,name format!

6-Any chance of turning the GPS on/off with a command or automatically after certain period if not used. Because if you close the navigation software by pressing the red/no button by mistake the application stays alive and consumes all your battery power without you noticing unless you re-enter and exit from the software menu.

7-On calendar items s40 phones have a very useful feature called move to/copy to. Rather than opening the agenda item/selecting the dates etc and option to cut/copy just simply can use move to and change the slot.

8- In s40 phones you can disable the active standby shortcuts without disabling the active standby so that you can still see your meetings/birthdays etc without filling your screen with junk.

9- I'm newe to s60 phones but is there a particular reason why you can assign different shortcuts to the joystick left, right, up and down in other phones but not the latest and most powerful s60 9.1 3 rd editions. Sounds funny to me.

10- In otherphones pressing and holding the # button would switch to the second line. In 6110 it switches between general & silent profiles!

how do you mean blue-tooth problem ?
1 have a 6110 and i can not get it to work with my in car-kit ,the kiy i have is a 616 nokia carkit but it say's SIM Card Reject .Can you help with this problem.Thanks Harry

Sma problem with nokia 6110 and bluetooth car connection

Well strange problem that one is.

My kit C7W Nokiacarkit. Firmware is 3.58. First activated bluetooth and paired the device. (Pairing code is 7777)

Then when the bluetooth is on start your car. (or turn on the ignition) It automatically pairs and starts working. I can increase the volume and decrease it from the car kit but although the kit with the phone sound quality is terrible.

But for 616 kits I'm not sure what the problem is since I don't have one at hand. I'm sorry.

Sim card failed is an interesing response since bluetooth car kits and simcard has nothing to do with each other.

Why won't nokia test their phones and fix them first rather than pushing more and more problematic devices to the market. That's how many companies go buted. look at samsung. They keep increasing their market shere by just " listening and caring for their customers"

So let's keep on putting pressure in here. Isn't this what these forums are for. lease keep posting and good luck to us all.

By the way, does anyone know where we can follow the latest version of the nokia firmwares? It is very dissappointing to load the software updater and find out there are no new updates..

Bluetooth Carkit echo problem with almost all Nokia/non nokia carkits

With the battery showing full, if you turn your phone off and back on sometimes you see the battery is almost empty. How can this happen within a minute? Which indicator is wrong? Empty or full.

When using the navigator if a call is received and silence key is pressed phone locks and nothing can be used. A reset is required.

Phone does not work with SIM32/64 cards properly.

Some calendar items constantly give a warning "Calendar item missed due to time change" but I'm %100 positive that I haven't changed the time and those items shouldn't be there at the first place. They are misplaced somehow through PC Suite backup/restore or synchronisation.

Some people are complaining alarms not functioning in some days.

Here's the most interesting one: I turned on the 6110. And before the nokia shake hand logo appeared the phone reset itself. Isn't this tupid? Nothing was working yet.

Nokia software engineers. Please stop torturing us and do your job properly.

What about the problem im having??

What should i do?
I tried in 3 different threads now, still no response...
And as far as i can see im not the only one with this problem.
ill try to describe it more:

When i press the button on the side of the phone the "talk now" thing comes up and when i say a name or a profile name the phone freezes/crashes.

When i enter the voice command menu and press "play voice command" the phone freezes/crashes

When i try to edit the voice commands for the profiles i get a "profilename is allready in use"

Im using newest Firmware, my phone is only 4 days old.

Also i got another bug:

When recieving some calls the phone crashes and restarts, this only happens on some numbers, and allways the same numbers.

When i delete the number from my contacts i can recieve calls from that number again.
I suspect the PC suite "add contact" function to have something to do with the bug, but im not 100% sure.

Dear Ben_Mike,

I too have this issue "Calendar item missed due to time change" and I've checked that it's the latest available firmware for the phone. From what I've been following on this forum, there are many others that share this same issue.

For myself, while I would like to visit the Nokia Care centres here in Singapore, I cannot afford the 4 hour wait time just to get to a counter staff. To be hornest, I've given up on visiting all together.

If your software engineers can just post a fix (either a firmware patch or workaround), I believe some of us would greatful.

I totally agree. It is great to be heard and cared about so many thanks for the comments from the Nokia side.

However I'm sure that we are all aware of the fact that most of the issues listed above will not be solved until new firmware updates are developed which local centres are not capable of. I can hardly think for instance a Nokia care centre person being able to solve the echo problem in a bluetooth unit. All they will do is to check whether it has the latest software and they will return the phone and tell me to wait for future updates. That's what has happened with my previous Nokias at least.

That's why we need care at the higher level then local care centres when it comes to software relate problems. Could someone at least compile these problems and pass them onto the developers for updates since we have no way of knowing where to send these apart from this forum.

And last but not least my dream is to see Nokia giving equal value to all Nokia phone owners regardless of what model they own and how much they've sepend for it. It is very frustrating to see newer software are made available for the N series almost every week but the rest of the Nokias owners have endless problems posted on this forum and many others waiting to be solved.

Another one I picked up from the smartphones section.

"My 6110 is crashing, if I try to use voice dial or any other voice recognition function.

After pushing the 'Own Button' and voice dialing one of my contacts (or trying to activate an application) the phone is freezing. Pressing another key then lets the phone crash. After about 10-15 sec, the GUI is back.
Has anyone else the same problem or doas someone know a bug fix for this?

About crashing on an incoming call. I had this problem until I disabled the "read who calls" feature (can't remember exact term).

I still have the voice dial crash problem, though. VERY annoying as I often use my phone in the car, and like to keep my eyes looking out of the wind screen

I Know it is very disappointing, since I use my bluetooth car kit and it doesn't work too.

I also discovered that once you start typing a message you cannot save it unless you click red/hang up button.

One other thing is once you receive a message or a missed call if you want to see the details you cannot.

These two features were available even for the old s40 phones.

One other odd thing is once you start writing a message you make all your entries with the joystick OK button then at the end when you want to send Joystick/OK will not function but you need to hit the left selection key/open the menu and select send from there.

Weird, the OK button works fine here.
When i press it at the end of a message i get the option to send or add reciepient.

The list keeps expanding.

Occasionally the joystick button gets locked and won't function unless you switch the phone off and back on. I have received a call today from a number which didn't appear in my contact list. After the call I went to the log and added the contact as new contact. I typed the first name and when I wanted to move to the last name area the joystick was locked. Wouldn't move down and no menu commands were available.

Switched the phone off and back on. Went to logs again. It was waiting to be saved with the first name already entered. I tried to move down to last name with the joystick and it was OK this time.

One more I discovered just now.

The phone is connected to PC via USB. The phone rings. Answer the phone and use the speakerphone option. Then unplug the USB and try to go back to handset mode. No sound.

Speakerphone works but not the handset. It gets back to normal if you end the call and redial.
