I recently updated my Nokia 5800 XM to the 50.0.0.5 firmware release. Ever since performing this updated I have had many issues with the phone:
- Whenever I open the menu, it takes around 20 seconds for the screen to respond to touches.
- "Not allowed" message displayed for around 50% of the calls I try and answer.
- Music player list of 'all songs' loads incredibly slowly as it fails to cache all the cover art images and will often go back to the start of the list once I've started scrolling to the song I want.
- Cannot re-assign my custom ringtones as when I try and open the tones list it says there is not enough memory and only shows the tones on the phone ROM.
I have checked my phone memory and there is around 47 MB free. I have tried resetting the phone to factory settings and reinstalling the firmware but these problems still persisted, even before restoring my existing settings and data with Nokia PC Suite backup. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can make my phone useable again?
I read something about a V51 firmware somewhere, is this actually available? I can't seem to find it on Nokia Updater or on the phone's internal update options, though the article I saw on here was from August.
Any help greatly appreciated, I loved my 5800 until I installed this update. Now even making and receiving phone calls is a challenge!
