sorry nokia doesnt release their dates of firmware release for certain regions. you're just gonna have to wait till its availble by keep checking everyday using nokia software updater.

thats the only advise any nokia member can give you at this moment.

NSU not showing the v40 for update, still it is v30. what is the product code of urs ? Nokia has released it for few product code. Here is my product code 0575590.

@chethanbob  there are many here with 0575590 product code, BTW even V31 is not availbale for this code, but u can get it updated in Nokia care center.

Its not like we wont get, its a matter of time. V31 is now available for that code that to we need to visit a nokia care center to get it, all u can do is to wait wait and wait.

Guys, just updated my 5800XM firmware to v40. Was waiting for this update for quite some time. Nokia has again proved that its one of the most customer caring companies! Kudos!!

   This really is the pits. I am stuck with v30 since i bought it. Really want the v40 update. Any idea when it'll be released. I have 0575590.

In order for the firmware to work on your phone, product code and region specific changes have to be made and because there are many codes, it takes a while for them to release it. Sit tight and wait is all you can do at the moment.

I am still stuck on v30 I bought this phone in jan 2009 then why they are upgrading new phones not old ones? We have already paid more money for this phone this is disgusting

ok Its about 0575590 that it could be end of updates through nsu at v30. As it happened to me earlier with 6630, Nokia realeased software version 6.03....... Through nokia care in india.But they never realesed it on nsu, last nsu was 5.01 So my friends if you have warranty left for your handsets then atleast get 31.0...... Because it may possible that nokia never release more update of 5800 through nsu. Oh ya forget about relese of v40.. Over nsu... Sorry if i am being too harrash, but thats the way nokia treat Indian handsets.. We Indians are just increasing their handset sale numbers. Sorry if i have hearted any ons feelings but thats the truth.

I cant wait until nokia releases v40 for NAM... I mean kinetic scrolling and the updated homepage would be very nice. At least I could use up some of that empty real-estate on my homepage. But then again I've got the NAM... that means i'll get v40 when v50 comes out... which would probably mean August >.<

Chetu the version 40 is Available at all Nokia Care in Bangalore.

I am amazed by so much craze for Kinetic Scrolling!!!

Let me assure you, its not very good... scroll isn't smooth... and you will find it missing in important places (web browser if you aren't already using opera).. In messaging, its useful if you have lots of message... KS has made tapping a bit unresponsive or difficult in grid menus.....

But again its not perfect, not smooth, lots of work can be done..

The best thing about v40 is its bug fixes and performance improvement!! I don't see anyone mentioning it with same fervour as of KS... 

New HomeScreen... I hate those big Contacts pics of Contacts Bar... looking bad.. though now you can add upto 20 contacts... And now you can see the ugly border to just about anything!!! 

So get a real review and stop whining.... No offence.

@ivvine How can a nokia care center update when that version is not available for that product code. V31 is now available for 0575590 as per the mail sent to me by nokia india which i am not able to see when i enter my product code on the can i update page.
