After I updated to FW 31.0.101 OTA the phone restarts about 30 seconds after finished start up. This happens all the time, meaning my phone is now completely useless. This is just one of very many problems this phone has offered, but this particular one is not possible to work around. I am actually so unsatisfied with mostly everything about this phone, including nokias support of it, that I have difficulties seeing myself ever returning to nokia in the future. Despite all this, I don't want to buy a new phone after having just bought this three months ago. Therefore I hope that this insane problem has a solution, so it might last until the next generation Iphone is released.

Please reply as soon as possible, because I dont have a mobile phone now!!

I have just updated the same software update to my 5800 and now my phone is useless too. It turns itself off, I turn it on - it blinks, the screen goes a bit crazy - I flick the unlock slide to try and go in the menu but it remains locked and tells me to do what I am doing - i.e. unlock screen lock - so I try again and then the phone turns itself off. Has anyone else got this and are there any solutions yet? Thanks

Add - My phone just accepted 2 texts - I managed to read them, thought all OK now. Turned phone off and on again and its back to above problem - the phone screen is all over the place again when actually on and permanently locked! Great will I need to do this everytime now? For the love........!!!

well looks like i need to stay away from ver. 31.. I'm glad still using ver 21...

same for us on two units.

the phone is self switching off and freezes after a call.

need to remove battery to reset.....

nice thing: I tryed to feedback this to nokia support, via the site BUT

a nice undeliverable mail went back !

hope someone of  nokia monitorizes this forum, or we have to wait for a new firmware release !

make a backup of the phones files but dont make a backup of the phones settings, then update again the firmware. after the update is finished perform this.

1)with the phone turned off

2)press and hold [Green]  + [Red] + [Camera] Keys

3)keep pressing them while you turn the phone on until you see the nokia shaking hands Logo.

after that the phone will be resetted to the firmware defaults, then restore the backup.
