Please help!
I was using my phone (5230) since more than a year and did update frequently. But now suddenly I cannot refresh my music player to add music or even images arn't visible. Both doesn't refresh. I had the music player refreshing for one night. Never did any music be added. All of my music and photos are in the 'file manager/e memory card' folder but I can't access any through the player. Even the real player wont detect any videos which currently shows in the memory card folder. I was so frustrated about this so I decided to update the firmware even after reseting the phone for factory settings. Since the phone was up to date I had to use my pc to reinstall the software. And here is where problems get worse! While updating the phone switches off and the update is then stoped asking for phone recovery. I can't access music neither photos or even refresh to play videos on real player or any or even update the phone! Please do help! I do hope nokia has an answer to my question.

I tried all. But still the phone can't be updated the process stops saying recover phone and advises me to remove the usb and restart the phone. I did it many times but it never worked. Always the update stops at a particular place and the error pops up. My concern of all this is since I cannot play any song or view videos neither photos from either the music player or the image & video folders. But still my memory card is detected and I can access all throught the memory card folder. Oh I feel lost!

When the update stops and message prompts you to disconnect the phone.. just click OK.. (Do not disconnect the phone..) and see if the process continues.. Read somewhere on this forum that this worked in a few cases... so give it a go...

.. though never confirmed myself.. as never had to undergo this problem...

trying to proceed by clicking ok didn't work. The same recover phone error pops up and besides by that time the phone switches off and takes some efforts to restart. I have updated this phone so many times but what's wrong now???

hello.. Nadster, did the nokia care people fix the problem? can u tell me what the problem was, if they did? i'm having the same problem with my 5233....memory card is detected but can't view images in the gallery or access songs through music player.

I was also having the same problem with my device, You can do one thing try to back up all your images, music and other files of memory card into your pc and format your memory card within your phone and than restart your phone and restore all your data into phone again via ovi suite. Check it back if all things started again. GL
