There are many users who complain for the poor service Ovi Sync offers. Those who relied on this service in the past say they had ended up losing all their contacts, notes and their calendar entries as well. This can be catastrophic for everyone, particularly for businessmen. So, you may read on if you wish to learn a 'trick' on how to manage with Ovi Sync.

In order to avoid duplicating your contacts or even and messing them up you have to synchronize your content separately. This means that you will have to follow three steps instead of one.

Step 1: Sync your contacts
Go to Menu > Contacts > options > sync > start sync with Ovi.

Step 2: Sync your notes
Go to Menu > Apps > Office > Notes > options > sync > start sync with Ovi

Step 3: Sync your calendar
Go to Menu > Apps > Tools > Ovi Sync > options > settings. Mark only the Calendar option. From now on you can synchronize your calendar through Ovi Sync whenever you want to.

This is really simple and there may be users who know the trick but i thought it would be a good idea to post it here.

Edit; You may notice that even after unmarking the 'contacts' option from the Ovi Sync settings it will be marked itself again - just ignore it and continue on syncing your content separately. Thank you to bearshare for pointing this out.
