my 5700 doesn't take pictures!!

hi everyone..

so .. my nokia 5700 -which i have for about a year now- has a problem with the camera .. i'm not even sure it's the camera... i does capture vidios and panorama's and everything .. but doesn't take a normal pic.. with or without flash .. when i try to snap a pic.. it makes the sound of the shutter alright .. but a second later it makes an error sound and a message appear on the screen that says

" general system error "

what does that mean ... is there a way to reinstall the system or something to solve the problem??

help me please.
