i think i have done all the googling and forum-searching i can do and still no luck answering my question so i hope someone will help me here. I bought my e71 (straight talk) in march '11 and up until about 1 or 2 months ago you tube and other sites w/ flash video worked just fine. But one day i just started getting msgs popping up saying 'you need to upgrade adobe flash player to view this site' and this happens with every single website i've tried even sites that i had no problem with before. I'm assuming i have flash lite 3.0 from what i've read online but beyond that i have no idea what version firmware or anything my phone has and i can't find the info anywhere on my phone or how to update anything. My device manager says 'no server profile found' and i can't figure out how to make one, if that would even help. I'm completely lost. The main reason i bought this phone was because i wanted to watch videos online and i only had it about 8 months before it seemed to become obsolete! I read horror stories about bad firmware updates so if there is a way to just update flash player i would prefer to do that rather than the firmware update. So my simplified question(s) is/are what should i do and how do i do it? Flash player upgrade? System update? Firmware update? make a device server profile? Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

also i'm new here so could someone let me know if i posted this in the right place or should i post in software updates? I just assumed 'video' cuz i saw other flash questions here. please excuse my blondness!

There are no separate, user-installable Flash Lite upgrades.

Whatever version of Flash Lite that Nokia delivers, they'll deliver as part of the firmware, and even then, as the name ("Lite") hints, it is not the same as "full" Flash on PCs, but a partially compatible subset.

Adobe has at times given Flash developers a version to install manually for some phone models, but it will work only as a "standalone" player (does not come with a browser plugin), and has not generally been available for regular phone users to install.

Note also that Adobe has stopped any further development of Flash or Flash Lite for mobile phones (they've stated they continue with "full" Flash on PCs,  but for mobiles they expect HTML5 to take over, and what's accelerating that trend - and contributed to Adobe's decision to abandon Flash on mobile phones - is probably the fact that neither Apple nor Microsoft allows Flash in any form or shape on their mobile phones).

You get firmware updates using the Nokia Software Updater (NSU), which comes with Nokia PC Suite, as well as the Nokia/Ovi Suite software.

The newer models also support over-the-air (OTA) updating of firmware, but I don't recall if the E71 is one of those, or if it is too old for that.

Pls am a new member,i use nokia 2600 classic,i tried downloading a flash player but after downloading it displaying file not supported.pls dont know what to do.i want to be watching online movies with my phone or be able download and watch youtube videos.i wil be grateful to get a helpful reply.

There is no installable flash player for the Nokia 2600 Classic.

The only flash player for it is the built-in Flash Lite player as part of the firmware, to which you can only get updates via Nokia's firmware updates for the model.
