Nokia X7 doesn't support Subtitles, and even can't find any update for it...

Any clues fellas...

Ditto for N8 PR 1.2.

I suspect it's just a flick or two in the settings. Does anyone still have the Nokia upgrade for 1.1 that introduces subtitles support ?

Not sure about the X7 but the video player on the N8 supports subtitles.  Please see the link below:

I've never tested it though.  When I found the link I already hardcoded the subtitles on my movies using MeGUI

I know it does, i had a C7 prior to X7 and had the liberty to enjoy subtitles. And that's what amazes me, if C7, N8, E7 can support Subtitles, why can't the latest Anna support Subtitles

It DID support subtitles, for a brief moment in time where PR 1.1 was current and an update was then published that DID unleash the power of subtitles.

Obviously you had to install such an update that I am afraid very few downloaded. I am unable to find that update to see if it works on my firmware PR 1.2, if anyone has got it, please mail me, I'll reward whoever will help me get that update up and working on my N8.

For N8 users and probably other S^3 as well with PR1.2: To obtain the subtitles support within the Video Player you must install the “Quick Search Update” which is 2352 kB in size. Blind luck brought me to the point where I installed that update, I had seen online that it installed a Video Player update, which I thought it might not be possible. Not because of course it isn't, but because I was sure NOKIA couldn't care less to update such application. In fact they didn't update anything about the app and how it works, I even got a OS crash after playing few seconds of video, but... FINALLY I HAVE SUBTITLES ! They work, you can't choose anything about them like size, position or colour but at least they work and they are quite readable. You just have to copy the .srt files with the exact name of the matching video file and that's it, they work.

In my Nokia 500 with newest software subtitles doesn't work yet. I have a Symbian Anna.

i bought today nokia 700 and try to watch a movie ... it starts but has no subs and audio Can u help me guys ,i will appreciate any help .If you know any good video player for belle-tell me...
