Problem with RSS in video centre on N82

Hi!

I have been trying to register the RSS feed to the TED talks in the video centre on my Nokia N82. I have registered the RSS in internet videos (or whatever it is called in english). The feed is recognized and I get videos downloaded.

The problem is that they seem to be broken. When I try to play them I get an error stating that either the sound or the video can't be played. Trying to play partially. And I get the sound, but not the video.

This looked to me like a codec problem. So I downloaded a sample clip from the RSS to my computer and checked it with gspot. It was H.264/MPEG-4 AVC so from what I understand that should be ok.

I tried to copy that clip from my computer to my N82 with PC Suite, and that worked. When I played that clip I got both video and audio. Then I tried downloading the exact same clip from the RSS in video centre and it fails. I only get sound.

Why? Can there be something wrong with the way the RSS feed works in video centre? Any suggestions or other people with the same problem? URL to the feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/tedtalks_video

Thanks,
Stian

Re: Problem with RSS in video centre on N82

It looks like it's been a year since you wrote this and I have the exact same problem on my Nokia 5800.  I would hope that since Nokia is a TED sponser this could be solved.

It seems that TED uses the CoreAVC codec for their podcast and the makers are working on a compatible player for symbian s60v5 devices currently http://forum.corecodec.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1482&p=11299&hilit=5800#p11299 but they need a device to work with.

I'm not positive this will solve the problem but if it does then I would keep looking for a CorePlayer for your device.
