I just got my new N958GB last week. I played with the camera and recorded video with no problems. I then went ahead and installed applications, such as yahoo go, youtube, and setup my e-mail. After this was completed, I went ahead and recorded video and noticed that every 3-5 seconds the video recorder will pause. The red light in the front that indicates the recorder is working also turns off when the pauses occur. I then called Nokia and I was advised to return for a replacement which I have done. I then continued troubleshooting, searching the web for other users with the same issue and this seems to be happening to alot of users. There is a fix to this problem, but I don't consider this a fix. Its just a temporary fix, and there's 2 ways. 1. When recording a video choose phone memory instead of mass memory. This will record video without pasues, but your time is limited to the amoutn of memory you have. 2. You can format your mass memory, but you'll loose data, so you have to perform a back up. After formatting your mass memory, you can record video without the pauses. However, after your first video either deleted or saved, the second video and on that you will record will have the pausing problem again. So you'll have to format the mass memory again to be able to record longer video.
In addition, the Nokia Software Update doesn' recognize the phone. I've done the reinstall as advised, and the phone is still not recognized. Is there a difference with N958GB-US and N958GB-UK? The Nokia PC Suite works fine.

If you actually reboot the phone after formatting mass memory, you can record video using mass memory without any issues. So I recommend rebooting the phone after formatting. I'm not sure if this will work for others but I'd like to know.

I am not sure if the issue starts after an application is isntalled on phone memory or mass memory.
I have duplicated this issue and IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE N95-4. I duplicated the issue on 2 NOKIA N95-4's. If you install an application, lets say for example youtube for mobile and Yahoo GO on phone memory; the video recording will start to pause every 3 or 5 seconds. This only happens when mass memory is used.
The pausing will not occur if you switch to phone memory. There is no fix and I hope nokia is aware of this problem and hopefully they are working on a fix. I hope the next firmware update will include the fix.

Both phones had the same pausing problem after 3-5 seconds after pressing record.
I then formatted mass memory, and this allowed me to record more than 5 mins.
I thought the issue was fixed, so later on I recorded another video (using mass memory), and after 11 seconds, pauses again.
The time it pauses varies, it can happend at 11, 5 or 20 seconds. I duplicated this issue on 2 n95-4's brand new. I've already received my third one, and returned the other 2.
I really don't know if there is a fix, and if you check youtube and search for nokia video bug then you can see others having the same problem also.

I've email nokia uk support and they are not aware of this problem, and advise me to send it to a nokia center in NY.

Have not done videos since until after I upgraded firmware to v20 last week. I took a few video clips this week and all keeps sticking (not when using the phone memory though).
When you say "But the problem will disappear after 2 min in use, and it will not happen if you keep using and do not get out", What do you mean by "do not get out"?
Are you saying the problem goes away on all videos after keeping the record on for 2 minutes on the first video?

The first is to set the memory in use to phone memory. This however limits the amount of video you can record at any one time.
The second is more drastic and requires the mass storage to be reformatted. You will lose all the data in you mass storage if you decide to do this so you should copy or backup the contents of your mass storage using either the content copier or backup function before doing so.
