sir, i purchased nokia 5300 red on 19/03/08 at THE MOBILR STORE,TIRUNELVELI,TAMILNADU. I found that the above said model battery storage was very poor because you gave the userguide power management talktime upto 3.2 hrs,but my phone battery was used 10calls(approximate 1 hr)and moreover within a day power also comedown, i am really shocked. so kindly help my problem.

Re: battery life

Battery life seems to be a real issue with many new nokia phones. The battery power is seriously under par for the functions of the phone. I have just posted a disgruntled thread about my own new 6500 that only lasts half a day on normal call usage. It's rubbish. Many other people are also complaining on the 02 website about this.

When the battery is used for first time it needs to be kept on charge for 12 to 16 hours ( model dependent , check your user manual )before it is used. The battery takes 2 to 3 charge-discharge cycle for the battery to reach full potential.

Re: battery life

I was told to charge it initially for up to 8 hrs. Does this mean the battery will now never hold a good charge, having failed to do what you suggested ?!

This advice is not written in the Nokia handbook - although I have since heard it from other places too. Do you think it should actually be in the handbook - maybe lots of people with battery problems have also not been told to do this extra long initial charge.
