Has anyone purchased Vlingo Plus lately? I've tried on my E71 and I keep getting an error saying I can't connect, operation failed, try again later. My connections all seem to be fine and I've tried both wifi and through my provider. Same result each time even after reinstalling the app a couple of times.

Thanks for the suggestion. It seems the problem may be that the Plus version of the app is somehow not compatible with the E71. No mention of that when I downloaded and installed the trail version and that worked fine. Only issue was when I tried to update to the Plus version. Recently found the following Ovi store link which tells me (when I'm logged in with my account) that my phone (E71) is not compatible. Which is too bad.

will get you a version of the app that works on s60v3 FP2 phones. Strangely, the URL above links to a "sis.dm" installer, which will not open on my phone (n79). I had to remove a few bytes from the beginning of the archive using a Hex Editor; the resulting archive-
www.kkef.org/vlingo_s60_FP2_v_1_6_2_41314.sis
tells me my phone is not compatible, but installs properly anyway. I have had no problems using it, but have not tried to upgrade to Vlingo Plus, since I can simply dictate to a note and copy the text to an email. Slightly less convenient, but free.
To repeat, this is the free version, so I am not linking to something that needs to be paid for. This is the most recent version of the app, according to Vlingo. Will it work on the E71 as opposed to the E71x? I don't know.
There was an older application called VoiceMode (for s60v3 FP2), a client-side solution that, as opposed to Vlingo, did not need a continuous live internet connection. It was restricted to dictations of about 100 words in length maximum. To the best of my knowledge it is no longer available commercially.

Thanks for your response. I tried the free version of Vlingo your link pointed to and it complained about not being compatible but installed anyway. Worked fine like my previous version but it still wouldn't upgrade to the Plus version however. I've received a few support emails from Vlingo who have tried to help me but from what I can tell, Vlingo free version = ok for E71 but the Plus version will not install on this phone.

My free version of Vlingo has apparently, all on its own, been upgraded to Vlingo Plus. The upgrade option does not appear any longer from within the program, and the voice commands "Email" and "Send message" bring up their email and text-message templates, awaiting dictation. Vlingo Plus does not seem to be available as such anymore. I have no complaints, of course.

Thanks for taking the time to update this thread. I downloaded Vlingo once again from the OVI store and presto! This time everything works as it would in plus mode. Which as you mentioned is not listed any longer. Thanks again!
