I have an N8.. I recently downloaded a movie to the phone... it is mp4... And out now appears in the videos folder.. And also in the pictures and music apps... Other videos also appear in the photos app...

How do I make it so that only photos show on the photos app. And that videos don't appear everywhere except the videos folder?

Hi 8_Ball,

As a new member let me be the first to welcome you to the Nokia discussion forums and thank you for your post.

In this case I suspect the reason for the MP4 file appearing in multiple folders could be due to the Tagging/metadata info. Metadata is information about the media file embedded within such as title, album, performer, website, lyrics, pictures, Cover art etc.

These ID3 tags (v1 and v2.x) are found primarily in MP3 and AAC audio files, and 3GPP metadata found in 3GP and MP4 audio files which most likely explains  why your mp4 file is appearing in both video and music as well. The photo's might be due to embedded cover art.

What I would recommend you do is to use a third party application to edit and remove any tagging / metadata from the MP4 file.

Thanks.. Seems to be the case. Other videos don't pop up in music
