Theft Aware - Uninstalling or re-launching the stalled app

I saw postings on Nokia Store Theft Aware review page about problems with the app.

To uninstall or to re-launch the interface of stalled Theft Aware, check this out:
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=90287.0

Note: You may need to install the RescueFile.sis as mentioned in the forum thread above.

Re: Theft Aware - Uninstalling or re-launching the stalled app

it is always the problem on ALL applications whenever the user forgets/loses his/her password or pin code.

the only way is to back up your data then hard reset.

Re: Theft Aware - Uninstalling or re-launching the stalled app

Theft Aware is a free phone antitheft app on Nokia Store (http://store.ovi.com/content/19089).

But it has a malfunctioning issue on Nokia Anna and Belle where the app server will stall (becomes inactive by itself) after a few phone re-starts over a few days or weeks, which makes the app useless in practice.

To overcome this issue, need to install JbakTaskman.

From JbakTaskman menu - Tools - Processes -select each of the 2 files below - Program Rules - enable Autostart option for each of the file.

1. GFSS...21DC1.EXE
2. GFSS...095C.EXE

Close (not Exit)  JbakTaskman for it to remain active in the background.

With this procedure, each time the phone re-starts/reboots, JbakTaskman will autostart the Theft Aware app server to prevent the server from being stalled.

Re: Theft Aware - Uninstalling or re-launching the stalled app

To uninstall Theft Aware open it, deactivate Theft Aware and now you see Theft Aware in the list of your apps and can uninstall it. If you think you already uninstalled it - but it still seems to be on the phone please install this package on your phone: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27553331/RescueFile.sis - this will give you an icon in the app menu again with which you can launch Theft Aware. Then deactivate Theft Aware and uninstall it.
