Hi, I have tried to download Skype from
skype mobile site, but it says your
phone is not supported.
Even skype is not available for Nokia
701 in Store too.

You have to wait until they update their Skype application so that it supports Symbian Belle.

The same happens with Symbian Anna devices, too (just to let you know).

how long will it take normally. i've bought this model thinking that it can support skype (SIP) as well as normal 3G calls. There are so many models from other brands which support skype but not the 3g video calls. Hope we get the skype for 701 soon.

Its totally upto the Developer.. It may be a couple of days to never...

nokia is not going to provide any skype sw for belle. It is better to move to other brands for skype calls.

These other brands won't do it either, when Skype doesn't produce it for their platforms.
It's all up to Skype whether or not there will be a Skype client for the 701, not to Nokia.

If Microsoft now owns Skype, and is releasing the MS Office suite for Belle, maybe they can have something done for Skype too

The only important application that I really really must have.

This is just sad, now standing just a threshold before some Symbian devices gets Symbian Belle.

In my case and for the company, an upgrade to Belle is not an option.

Skype is too important.

I use Nokia E6 for the daily use.

Anyone had Skype installed before an upgraded Anna to Belle...does it work then?

Don´t really want to do some "tweaking" on this phone just to be able to run Skype inside of Belle.

I don´t care about "angry pigs" or even "shoot em down", i want useful applications that is useful for everyday life.

Mr Elop, please take your this great application to the our beloved Symbian 3 Belle!

I tried to install Skype version for N8 or C7. I don't know what minor changes they have made in belle, Skype and JoikuSpot gets installed but they just fail to connect to internet. Just simple software change makes them not to work i guess.

When it happen, We all hope it could make a video call from the N8(all firmware) as we have been expecting it to work since it lunch a year ago or more and it could play Real encoded movies for good.
