PcSuite & Vista64

I don't know when the problem occurs (maybe after I've installed some new program) but at the moment Nokia PcSuite won't launch (simply, after the double click nothing happens, neither a new process launchs).
If I click on every other program in the folder by clicking on them (PcSync.exe, CoommunicationCenter.exe...) they works, obviously except for Pcsuite.exe.
At first I've the 7.0.8.2, then I tried the last one (7.0.9.2) but nothing seems to change. Someone has some idea for solving my problem? Thanks :smileyhappy:

ps. sorry if my english it's not so correct but in my country now it's 2.05 am and i'm a little tired :smileyvery-happy:

Re: PcSuite & Vista64

I do have Vista 64 and I do have instaled the Nokia PC Suite. I also updated to the latest version and they worked fine.

Maybe you need to uninstall the program and anything related to the Nokia software and re-install everything from scratch after a restart.

Re: PcSuite & Vista64

Hello deskmat !

Could you try these steps:

1) Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, PC Connectivity Solution and Nokia Connectivity Cable driver from Add/Remove programs
2) Run the Nokia PC Suite Cleaner. It will clean the registry from the traces of PCS(http://www.nokia.co.in/A41279106)
3) Download and run CC Cleaner. (google it)
4) Restart the PC.
5) Reinstall Nokia PC Suite (if possible the latest one)

check if it helps...i have vista 32 bit and N70....but PCS 7.1 did not work for me and 7.0.9 worked for me...so i'm not sure whether PCS 7.1 works for you...anyway just try

Re: PcSuite & Vista64

Yesterday, I posted a message about Vista 64 and OviSuite 1.1 or PCSuite 7.1.18.

Both programs corrupt Windows Media Player. I'm just wondering whether there's an update on this thread ?

To be clear:

- Both programs run fine, but Windows Media Player doesn't run anymore (not responding error -> and the app is closed)

- I see under Vista two icons of the 5800 XpressMusic in the Computer folder. With PCSuite 7.1.18 under XP 32-bits I only see one.

- Uninstalling Ovisuite doesn't bring back WMP11. I had to do a system restore.

- Uninstalling PCSuite solves the problem. WMP11 works again. No need for a full system restore.

This is quite annoying, so I had hoped others experienced the same issue.

For clearity, I have Vista Home Premium 64-bits, all patches installed, SP1, IE8 installed as well.
