Hi,

I cannot use Facebook from my social networks on my N8 phone.

Is the application not done for N8, or what might be the resaon that it won't work?

It works fine on mine,I have fb and twitter set up, you have to log in via the social screen, and then it boots up.

hi...i just bought N8...things which are not working..

ovi suite is connecting with it...

main issue 

I CANT SEE FACEBOOK NOTIFICATIONS...I MEAN I CANSEE EVENTS ETC ETC..BUT NO NOTIFICATIONS....

and i cant Ovi chat...and Live messenger

yeah the social app doesnt give you facebook notifications hopefully theyll fix that

it seem that the symbian app development team is lack of facebook knowledge hahaaa
Notifications is such a good stuff in FB and they can't even make it correctly to user.

Nokia N8 is one of the worst handset I have ever had... I was the one who was promoting this device to everyone before launch and after launch but this Nokia people have screwed me.. with a week of purchase my handset was continuously resta...rting for a minimum 30-40 times in a day.. I took it to care center and they flashed it but nothing worked.. Later they told they need to send the handset to Delhi Head Office, which was sent on 27th And nothing happened till now, Its just revert is going on is shown from last 4 days.. I wont entertain this kind of service, I would move towards a legal action on this as I have a Job Sheet which says Target Deadline for handset is 25th of October and today is 2nd Nov.. The customer care guys told me If you want you can go ahead with the Legal Case.. This is what Nokia is doing in India now..

there's actually are issues with the social apps but lets hope Nokia will come up with fix for this.

Nokia have already released a new version of the social app , check for software updates on your phone !

Yeah, Version 1.2 but it still does not have facebook notificaitons.

Do the dev team read these posts at all?

Thanks for the link, but we are interested in Nokias Social / Facebook client not this 3rd party one.

Nokia app works well, they just need to listen to the feed back about it, expescially with the new posts/reply notifications not showing

Its a release app like most of them on the phone, it's intended to be updated and improved over the life of the phone,

Due to format a new problem born.

Unable to install Ovi Store.

Then I sent N8 to Nokia Care Center, They flashed & formated it.

But Problem again persists.

TODAY I GOT SOLUTION.

When ever we go to any Social site through Nokia Widget.

Our all data is processed via Nokia Server.

Since last month all social sites have withheld their tie up with Nokia.

This problem will never get solved, unless & until Nokia have a tie up with all social sites.

If your rumor would be correct that Facebook blocks Nokia, so please explain me why Facebook is working for me (and most other users of N8) ?

its pretty much the primary reason anyone even uses facebook.
