I´m having the same problem with my N8, cant go on my Facebook through me Social Network

It has been 6 months and Nokia still have not updated Facebook App (Social 1.2/1.3) to show proper notifications.

I can totaly see why they are losing market share, it's not that hard to add the most requested feature

I can login to the Social Networks widget with my Nokia account and it pulls up the facebook and twitter icons. Then I try to login to facebook through the Social Networks widget but it tells me I have incorrect username or password. However, I can login successfully to facebook through the N8 web browser with the same facebook username and password that I'm using through the widget. Does anyone know if there is a problem with the Social Networks widget passing the credentials to facebook? Or what the solution is for this? Thanks

Nokia will be releasing a new beta version of their Facebook app with notifications soon. Keep an eye on betalabs.Nokia.com. I for one am not using their current app

I figured out the login problem...was because i had to enable apps in facebook privacy

The social network was properly working with my N8 handset before, when suddenly an error message prompted that i have to uninstall and reinstall the application so i deleted the old version and installed the latest version via ovi store. However, everytime i try to access the new version, it keeps prompting that the plug-in was not properly installed and therefore, not using a real connection. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application many times already, but still not working. Could anyone help me on this?

Hi, if you use your n8 web application, go to facebook.com it prompts you on the log-in page, to download facebook mobile. Do it. It gives you notifications etc. Its ace. Develvoped by facebook themselves. xx

Please could you tell us exactly how to do this.

I'm sick of lgging into social on my N8. Every stupid time I want to post anything I'm prompted for the login, my item isn't posted, I type it in again, I'm prompted for the login, my item isn't posted, I type it in again, I'm prompted for my login details, I login, my item hasn't been posted so I type it in again but I'm prompted for my login details again so I enter all of them (about 50 characters) but my item isn't posted so I prepare the picture or witty comment again and post it but my N8 asks me to login to Facebook again so I do that only to see that my item hasn't been posted....

I could go on forever. No wonder people laugh at me when I tell them what phone I have!

It's much better than social and free as well.

for new n8 who had belle pre-installed, might want to check new social client on store, more features than than old 1.3 client
