Certificate "Exipred" or "not yet valid"

Dear all,

I really need your help. I have updated the firmware of my nokia 5800 (up to vers. 11.018 or something). Since this update I CAN'T install any applications downloaded from the download session of my phone. It keeps saying "certificate expired" no matter the application I try to install (mail exchange, worldmate, adobe reader....). I tried to re-install the firmware, I formatted the memory card and I tried to reset the phone (*#73720# or something), but NOTHING!!! Then I tried to change the date of the clock (back to the past and even to the future) but nothing works.

Any help would and will be appriciated!!!!

Regards

Re: Certificate "Exipred" or "not yet valid"

done it too... i changed it to 2010 up untill 2020... nothing... I've been told to bring my phone to a Nokia Point... apparently I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.. many other 5800xp have this bug... I would like to know if this bug will be fixed with a new firmware and if nokia knows about this bug!!!

Re: Certificate "Exipred" or "not yet valid"

actually, despite what nokia tells us, I found a solution for this problem... I'm the one who opened this topic and I assure you that now my 5800 works like a charm... all you need to do i search through google "nokia 5800 expired certificate" and you'll find lots of forum where this problem has been treated and also resolved..

Basically all you need to do is to perform a deep reset WITHOUT your SIM CARD!!! You'll find more detailed instructions in many of the forums I wrote about before...

Hope I've been helpfull and sorry for my english (you know...i'm italian :smileyhappy: )

Bye bye...

Re: Certificate "Exipred" or "not yet valid"

As a followup, I did reset my 'phone and then installed the PDF reader and quickoffice which I was happy about. I left it for a few hours and now I get the same error when I try to install any other application. I don't want to go through the whole process again so I'll just wait for Nokia to upgrade the 'phone software. Incidentally, I've also lost the license for all the music that was on the 'phone.

Re: Certificate "Exipred" or "not yet valid"

One more piece of information. I've reset my 'phone yet again and am again able to install applications. I wonder if the problem is related to the Quikoffice products (PDF reader and Quikoffice)? I don't need office but I do need a PDF reader so I'll try Readmaniac which is supposed to work.
